Painting my IG before BC...

I plan on painting my whole IG before BC and this is how I'm going to paint my vehicles. What do you think?

Reminds me of the camo from The Great War on the battle ships... only it's greens; not greys...

Neat. Nice scheme and looks good on the vehicles.

Of course, as Lezle said, painting tanks is fine - painting all that infantry is what will make you a real man.

At the moment I'm converting one kasrkin with a flamer into a kasrkin with a meltagun, and the other one from a flamer to a plasma gun.

I have even managed to keep the straps and monitors attached.

Just need to figure out what to do with the hand grip on the plasma gun.

Looks good, again on mass will look pretty sweet. Gee theres gona be a few nice looking armies this year.

oh oh. I'm not 100% sure what scheme to paint the catachans. I was thinking bestial brown pants with bleached bone and black smudges.

And what's an easy (& cheap) way to base all the models?

are you near a beach with sand? or have a stone drive way?

use sand or the finer bits of stone from your driveway. otherwise there is stuff you can buy which is cheaper than the GW stuff its for train set modelling. for around $3.50-$4.50 a bag you get the same if not more than the GW bags/pots.

Hi.

Places like Hobby City on Quay Street have railway bags of everything! They cost around $8 but you get about three times more than the GW stuff.

Seeing as you will doing your entire force, the $20 container is a BARGAIN! It is roughly milk bottle size, filled to the brim! I kidd you not!

Hobby City has also opened up next to/near the new Albany mall. Awesome x 100 stuff in there.

what's the bes way to paint the bases (if I need to at all)?

[daemion]

1. put paint(any colour) on base.
2. dip in sand straight away. dry.
 3.use colour chosen 4 base effect and water it down 50:50. 4.dip brush in paint/water. touch sand on base with brush- colour runs through sand without touching figure. let dry.
5. drybrush, add grass etc. fast and easy.

do each stage across all figs. by the time you finish each stage you are ready for next...
I'm doing my finished figs tonite...just gotta decide on colour for bases 2...

u dont need to use stinky pva this way and stuff up any of your brushes...nice cam 2 mate.
