The tickets are starting to disappear out the door. Still a month of earlybird registration.

Players Pack will be released early February but the salient points are included in the above post.

Scoring:   60% Battle, 20% Painting, 20% Sports

I presume it's as in the players pack as opposed to those?

Yep....however in effect if we presume you are not a knob and your army scores the full painting points (checklist based - you need 36/45 for full marks)

then it is 100% Gameplay

thats also presuming people have the time to fully paint their miniatures, I am yet to go to a tournament with a fully painted army, however in saying that I do plan on having my army finished in a month

edit:out of curiosity what is on the check list?  Wink

Well at Fields your army must be painted to participate so unless you believe that you'll have a fully painted army by July then Fields is not the tournament for you.

Painting - 35 pts

10 points of this is for 3 colour minimum, 15 points for effort beyond this standard. Then specific 10 points broken out for shading, highlighting, blending, banners, detailing, uniformity, cohesiveness

Basing - 4 pts

Conversions - 5 points

Special - 2 pts (e.g. display base, something that makes the army stand out)

At last two Fields 75% of armies scored at least 30/36 and about 40% scored full marks.

I'll send the full checklist out to participants upon registration so that they know exactly how it is marked.

Regards

I do, but my whole army does have at least 3 colours on it atm, in fact the ones which are at 3 are the top of my list as its my favorite unit in the army

thanks for the list, its close enough to the march to war one I'm going off

The actual checklist has been post as a download at thefieldsofblo od.com so people can use it to see what they need to do to maximise their painting score at the event.

i have a 28mm fig of me wearing a grey hoodie, blue jeans, black chucks and smoking a ciggie as an objective. would that get me points instead of having a display base? ^_^

Certainly would get "conversion" and "artistic" points

Hi,

If you are looking to come to Fields there are just over 20 tickets left.

Flights Auckland-Wellington return are currently as low as $140 on Air NZ for that weekend.

Cheers

Armies must be painted to at least a tabletop standard. That means three plus colours, highlight or wash and fully based.

well, i mix on average six to seven colours to create the base of my paints alone, not counting the shades and highlighs.  i guess that qualifies for me

Only a dozen tickets left. Going to be a great event. Variety of skill levels registered so the expectation is there is something for everyone.

Saturday evening will see an international between Australia and NZ
