UK WHFB Masters is this weekend. Expect it to influence "comp" for the next 12 months.

The lists don't look all that different from the NZ Masters or other hard tourny armies from the last 12 months except for the VC for Richard L, Skaven of BJ and the WE army. I Wish the WE well, but it looks like a one trick pony that won't be able to take a charge but should do well in some circumstances.

My pick: the winner between the Ogres in game 1 and I hope Dave takes it. Neither of those lists is as good as the Buddhas in terms of all round competitivenes s IMHO (we are all allowed our conceits aren't we), butthere doesn't seem to be much chaff in the armies.

Now picking a winner in a tourny 12000 miles away is a tough call and bound to fail, but have a look at the armies and pipe up with your own opinions.

Thanks.. I would never dream of trying to compete with the Buddahs, but am always happy to feed off the scraps from his table.

Ben C is the perennial favourite for masters... and every year he chokes.

my pick Ben johnson and skaven.

That wood Elf list.... am I missing something here?
I can see its very reliant on Magic. So basically IMO its going to fall over hard!

Is it just me or do some of those lists seem really lord/hero heavy?

It looks like Dave steam rolled the other Ogre player on game one, but dropped the next two games. Ogres not for the win perhaps Sad

I played like a retard most of the weekend... and both Ironblasters blew themselves up 3/6 games (in game 5 my opponent killed 300 pts... I killed 700 pts of my own stuff).

That wood Elf list was indeed very 'special'. Very interesting concept, but executed very pooly.
