The Wandering Orc; 2400 Fantasy Tournament in Tauranga, 19th - 20th May 2012

Limited (almost no) comp WHFB tournament hosted by the Tauranga Club (co hosted by the TBC Club)

no named characters, but pretty much no hard caps, (Pack out mid January with full details). 

Bring an army full of all the nasties you want to field (as long as it is within 8th ed RB restrictions), or bring your NICON list for one last shake down 2 weeks before.

Registrations open on January 16th.

Cost will be around $30, (again fully confirmed with Players pack.)

Preliminary Comp for the Event

Comp

Maximum army size 2400 points

No special or named characters

No regiments of renown or Albion units

No allies or allied armies

No back of the book or special army lists

Max of 12 power dice or dispel dice may be used, stored or other wise rolled by each player in each magic phase. The basic premise is that if it looks like a power dice and acts like a power dice it counts as power dice, even if it is called something else.

That is basically it!  So yes you can bring your double Hydra's, double Iron Blasters or play that mega- horde!

We will be playing the Scenario's from the Rule Book, 4 games on the Saturday, 2 on the Sunday.

Sat night is late but it means an early finish sunday for those driving...  Oh and did I mention the venue (cricket club rooms) have a bar...

if you are going to stay anywhere, cheap accommodation at  back backers near the venue, will get the address for you if you want it...  best to stay in mount as it is close to venue...

What are your numbers looking like?

small at the moment, mainly because I wasn't proactive about the early bird!  like MTW expecting a late flurry... 

Also Nats is Easter so entry to a may event not really a focus for some.  We just had our 40K tourney so our club guys are making decisions in the next week or so...

2 definite's (as definite as you can be without chucking money into our account) from Auckland, James Brown and John from city guard....

Just been talking to Gateway Motor Inn about an accommodation deal for the weekend.  Motel is about 5 minutes from the venue in the Mount and about minutes from the airport!

mate, sounds good.  Looking forward to coming down.  See if we can bring a few more of the boys with us.  The Mt is an awesome place for a few beers Saturday night as well.  Might as well get the most of the pass!

Yep, only had great reviews from that one Hamish, it's more of a case of organising myself into action, the event itself will be flawless , suffering from awesome, and fun for all participating.

going to use King of the Hill (from Equinox) rather than Watch tower..  when you register I will send you a copy of scenario's and the timing of the event as well as a template for your army lists.

A few people concerned over 600 pt bonus for the Hill and breaking opponent,may bring it back to 400 in line with other tourneys in NZ
