In one or two lines here are some wild guesses of what will be in the new WH army books, so that I can say I told you so. Please add your own.

Brets
Devastating charge on knights
Grail knights to a hero upgrade or a unit upgrade like an assassin
An item or banner that negates steadfast

Dwarves
Army wide steadfast/stubborn
Airship
Multi attack elite infantry

Anything else...

Fishmen! Its the real answer to ogres!

They'll be equipt with water rifles and water cannons which will cause armoured units to rust (no armour save) and all units will suffer from severe arthritis reducing them to WS2, Str2, T2 and I2.

Special attack - slap in the belly with a wet fish = killing blow for models with big noses.

Like to see a unit of Bulls charge into the sea and sink Smiley

Dwarfs to get MI-sized steampowered exosuits/robots armed with a variety of big fists and big guns.  We'll call them War-Mechs or Battle-Jacks

dwarf will get Monstrous cavalry and steam tank like warmachine.

bretonnia will get a warshrine thing which gives "blessing" to other unit, similar to Cauldron of Blood or chaos warshrine.

green knight becomes rare choice.

blessing will be gone and replace it with army wide 5+ ward save like daemon.

new units:

goblins who dress like bretonnians.  Cheesy

This makes sense if you still loose the blessing in the same situations that currently happens. Even better if it starts off as a 6+ ward, and gets better the more knightly stuff that gets done.

The general rules that GW is currently working under seems to be as follows:

1.   Bring back old stuff/reverse recent changes in books
2.   Bring back old special characters
3.   Add monstrous infantry and/or cavalry if it isn’t already there
4.   Add a big monster
5.   Add a ‘buffing’ unit/item like the Anvil or Casket
6.   Somewhere in the above mix will a unit that will be so good/cheap (in the game sense only) that we will buy crap loads regards of the price or the quality of the miniatures.
7.   Miss an obvious update to a unit’s models

If you apply these rules to the rumoured vampire release early next year then you have the following

1.   Already done in White Dwarf – independent banshees and wraiths re-instated; bloodlines supposed to reappear in new book. Another one would be to revert ghouls to skirmishers, but GW aren’t that brave or stupid
2.   Krell rumoured to be returning in new book with a new model
3.   Flesh golems (monstrous infantry) rumoured for new book, including the option to upgrade to flying
4.   Already done in White Dwarf via the Terrorgiest
5.   Rumours of a ‘black coach’ like kit called the Mortis Engine which may have the ability to buff units, although this sort of exists with the Corpse Cart
6.   I’m thinking the Flesh Golems will be pretty good and there is a rumour of a cavalry kit which can be either Black Knights or something else (not Blood Knights) which might be Wraith Riders; terror causing ethereal cavalry anyone.
7.   Zombies are still rumoured to stay the same (buy the Mantic ones – cheap, better and in scale with the new GW skellies and ghouls); Black Coach supposed to be going Finecast.

If you apply these rules to the 3 recent hardcover releases (O&G, TK, OK) they generally work

1.   More squigs & spiders, snotling spore attacks; doesn’t work so well for TK and OK as this is only the 2nd official book.
2.   Grom; Arkhan; Golfag
3.   Basic trolls dropped to special & mangler squigs; Necroknights and Stalkers; Mournfang Cav.
4.   Big Spider thing, Sphinxes, Stonehorn and Thundertusk
5.   Massive missed opportunity here for an Idol of Gork, Casket revamp for TK, missed opportunity for a butchers cauldron upgrade ala Skragg
6.   The Big Spider (initially anyway); Sphinx, Mournfangs
7.   Common goblins, Basic skeletons, Yhetees

From here it might be possible to make some guesses about upcoming army books

It would be good to see a new High Elf core choice, also maybe Heavy armour for spearmen/sea guard.  Maybe a new unit to spice things up.. maybe lion riders?  Furious charge.. killing blow ha ha maybe a new rare choice eagle riders or a shrine like choice.  Just to get some tatical flexibilty apart from magic, elite infantry and cavalry...

The maiden guard was ok, but just a variation of sea gaurd with WS5 and no shields!   Sad Silver Helms as core would make them worth taking and maybe cheaper?  Dragon Princes are just better... Fire Drake riders would be good!  maybe lion packs?  I've played HE's since 4th ed straight out of the box and the army hasn't really changed in terms of units

do you mean lions like how the budda kingdoms have sabertusks a really cheep redirecter

maybe a classical golum (in some ways like a indy chaos dwarf one) but created as warriors to help the high elves
you could have orge sized ones and gaint sized ones

Yeah ... I thought about buying those bear miniatures awhile back. But struggled to figure out how to fit them in my dwarf army.
But since GW seem to be going down Monstrous Cav road.. Bears seem the obvious choice..
Heck i think GW could do just a good a job with models too.

Ohhhh yes please, bring back Dogs of War anybody!!!!

Aside from that. Yes, Dwarfs will get some form of cavalry at last even if it does only move 4-5 inches!!!

As GW loves Chaos and to screw us out of more pennies. A Marauders of Chaos book, where a Conan Warlord can crush all before him or a Slaine like Warlord rolls on a event table to see whether he is possesed by a warp spasm.

I don't think this is ever going to happen but it would be awesome.
A new chaos god of fear! Imagine having a bunch of freaky demons with black skin and bright purple highlets. I was wondering what the base troops would look like and I came up with a few ideas but they all seemed to similar to bloodletters. Maybe shadowy figures with big curvy blades. Instead of shooting they could cause one unit within 24 to take leadership tests [one per demon]. Each fail equals a wound no armour or cover saves.
PS I'm a 40k player but since demons go in both it applies here.

50 man marauder units in kilts, druids for mages, a option for a lord on a dragon"The Knuckler" or a huge stag, a cauldron for summoning the slain, chariots drawn by giant boars.
Marauders need more options, at the moment they are way too boring on foot. Mark of Khorne with Great Weapons and thats as good as they get for a viable option to be competitive.
A banner would be nice. A cool rule would be the could sacrifice d6 unit members each time the unit is not in combat, which could be summoned like a spell and raised within 12" from the cauldron, or the unit could charge an extra inch for each model sacrificed.
Poaching abit too much from Slaine I know, but would be interesting.
