Hi all,

As I've been delving back into the 40k world I discovered some great resources around the web for cardstock models. There are a bunch of different 40k vehicles available and I wondered what people's thoughts were on using card stock models in their games.

Personally, I'm all for them. With all the furore recently about GW's shipping/pricing policies I think this is a great way for people to continue to play the games they love, whilst opening up a world of possibilities that may have been closed due to financial reasons (I definitely fall into this category).

So I guess my questions comes down to this: if you came along to club and saw your opponent plonk down some card stock Rhinos, Landraiders, etc beside their Marine miniatures, how would you feel about it? We're all so used to spending loads of cash and hours on our armies, so would it bother you that someone could do the same thing cheaper?

Totally fine about it. It's all about the hobby for me and how people express their creativity in a hobby they like is not up to anyone else but them. Go for it.

In fact - got any links? Smiley

Found a forum at www.zealot.com which specialises in card stock modelling. Only trick is you have to register and contribute 10 meaningful posts over a reasonable time frame before the downloads section is unlocked. There is a 40k section there full of awesome tanks, etc. Check 'em out!

10 meaningful posts? Shocked

I've done over 200 here and I'd struggle to find half the required amount in that lot.

Seriously though, cheers. Will check them out.

Yeah so long as it is the appropriate size so it doesn't screw with true line of sight for 40K then I'm all for it.

I think there's a big difference between a piece of paper that says 'tank' on it, and something that someone has taken lots of time and effort to build. I'd be really impressed to see some serious modelling done with paper/card and painted up, and would have no problems playing with or against it
