A historic game with all the forces that featured in the WW II and more. Flames of War is a 15mm miniature table top game. The company that produces the miniatures and the fantastic Intelligence books (army books) are right here in Auckland ' Battlefront Miniatures'. You can find their products at any leading Hobby and war gaming shops locally.

Battlefront have been fantastic in supporting Auckland City guard and have recently provided us with miniatures to demonstrate the game at the club. Along with leading players and FoW TO's Steve Chambers and Gav Van Rossum we'll be concentrating on getting more terrain and resources so everyone can have a go at the Club.

I have a big force of Americans and these should be painted up shortly. Matt has the Clubs USSR force and both armies are available f anyone wants to have a go. With funds and resources to be confirmed I may also donate on permanent loan to the club a British force too. I've looked through our terrain cupboards and we have a vast array of FoW terrain so if anyone is keen please let me know.

Heres some pictures of the two forces we have available to the club so far and further down the line I might even put up some pic's of my average painting too Smiley

M3 Stuarts

Platoon of rifleman.

M4 Shermans the heat of the US armoured push

Katayusha Rocket Batteries and artillery support.

T34 super tanks with mine rollers.

I have been seriously thinking about getting into this. Will have to buy a rule book and read up on it.

Will there be demo/teaching days at the club at any stage?

Thanks Matt for putting up the pics of the army. I'll see if I can score you some paint too as you are putting this army together for the club.

So these are the Russians and along with the Americans that will soon be available to be used in the Clubs loan cupboard.

We also have a almost complete Library of FoW reference book in the Clubs loan cupboard if you want to check them out.

@Stan if you're keen to get started, I recommend the starter pack which contains the mini Rule book and some tanks and is good value.

Hey Laz, I think it's cute that you've got one of them with the horses having a lie down and a bit of a nap.

Am always keen for a game. I don't have a completed army yet but will do soon.

Cheap git that I am, I've got a Panzerkompanie, Mid/Late War. So, so tiny.

It's been... ummm... at LEAST five years since I've had a game, closer to ten-ish... still got my not-so-rare signed 1st edition rulebook.
Far from a super-experienced player, but keen to get my blitzkrieg on, on a highway to schnell!

Anyone want to give a n00b a good thrashing, or to take pity on me and sit still while my Panzers try and hit you, don't hesitate to proffer a challenge =)

What a cool game! Thanks for showing me the ropes Paul. Will definitely be taking this system up. Now, all I have to do is start saving up for an army.
