Good to see everyone is already set to register for NiCon. I'm still organising the format and game systems plus the TO's. I'll have some thing up fairly soon possibly this weekend even.

Emails will be sent to everyone currently on the tournament emailing list this weekend. If you don't think you are included please send me a PM and I'll make sure you're on the list. Players packs are provisional and can be found in earlier posts in this thread.

With a fantastic interest in Wargaming tournaments at present all entries will be confirmed upon payment of your entry fee to save complications. We would like to accommodate everyone to the tournament but unfortunately there is only a certain amount of seats at the venue.

Nicon WFB has always been a very popular event and we will expect a high attendance to this tournament.

Nicon 40K will be a newly designed 6 missions especially for this event, and is expected to be a lage tournament.

Warmachine Teams event will feature teams from all around the country and will be the feature tournament of the year, don't miss out.

Flames of War Hosted by Steve Chambers, tournament details TBA.

There will be plenty of wargaming merchandise plus Trophies and Medals for all the Tournaments at NiCon. These prizes will be for all the place getters and presented as spot prizes which all tournament goers will be eligible. It will be great to have you support the wargaming community by your attendance.


Nb: Entries will be accepted on a first come first served basis to be fair to all.
      If you would like to attend and would also like to arrange later payment this has to be arranged first not expected.

DBR & Blood Bowl competitions have been added to the Tournament.

Thank you for all your early interest Wargamers. Registrations and Advertising was delayed so not to over shadow other national events happening on the NZ tournament calendar. Fast approaching the tournament so Emails will be going out to the database of players later tonight and tomorrow. Early registrations will be extended until the end of the week and with about 40 pre-registration already we are looking at another very well attended event once again in Auckland.

WARHAMMER PACK PREVIEW v2
commentary: Having taken on board some of the contributions earlier in this thread, and developments in Warhammer World I'm proposing to update the NICon pack to loosen restrictions on most armies, and target some of the usual suspects. I would like your feedback on some of this, as I haven't seen the 100% additional VPs clause in any other pack.

You will also see that as a general rule, the Stubborn Crown and the Leadership Banner are restricted for some 7th edition books. This is because I would like to see armies that can take a Ld 10 lord take rather than default to a ld 9 spell caster, and for these armies not use the Crown of Command as a 1+ crutch when they generally have a pretty decent selection of army specific magic items or powers.

All 6 scenarios will be played with a 500 pt bonus for winning the win/loose scenarios

Maximum army size 2400 points

No special or named characters

No regiments of renown unless in Dogs of War armies

Character models are eligible for a look out sir roll is the are normally allowed one and attached to a unit that is subject to a spell that either requires a characteristic test and affects every model in the unit, or is hit by a tempate, or otherwise result in it being instantly removed.
Spells include for purposes of illustration: Dreaded 13th, Dwellers Below, Infernal gateway

A unit cannot enter a buiding if its has perfmored a swift reform maneauver during it's turn.

Feedback please. If overwhemlingly negative then I'll backtrack to hardcaps and take the 100% additional VPs away.

Don't like this. This really handicaps the Dreaded 13th.
It is a 25+ spell to cast in the first place, so it should pack a bit of a whammy.
If the roll of 4d6 dice is equal to or higher than the number of models in the unit, they turn into a unit of clanrats.
By giving characters a look out sir, it means there is only 1 chance in 6 that the unit will turn into rats. If there is more then one character, this reduces the odds further.
Your better off just throwing a 5+ warp lightning spell at the unit for the results your going to get.

I'm unsure how a lookout sir will effect the other spells, but will it effectively neuter them as well?

Can whoever is in charge of the Email actually check that thing once a day, I emailed wanting to register on Monday, I got an Email on Wednesday asking for details, sent back said details and I am waiting on the actual confirmation email. I could have gotten the registration money in already.

Just waiting for the bank details. Suggest it would be easier to send them out in the first email.

Have you on the list but Hotmail does not like the nicon address for some reason. I've sent the invites out last night via my email but will revert to nicon address once it fixes itself. Do remember that there's no one person working full time on this it's volunteer work so will try to get the time to fit all the admin in but it will be asap.

Great pack.  Just wondering if its worth limiting the number of troops that can go in buildings/the watchtower.  Just to stop 40 bloodletters sitting in there and making it a non-game.
