My name is Carl (same as my login - wouldn't want to clutter my mind with something else to remember, my own name is enough of a challenge to remember at times).

I'm starting to get to know most of the guys around the club and have enjoyed playing everyone (well, with the possible exception of Eldar players. God! I hate the Eldar! HATE them! (actually, I don't mind Eldar players, I just hate those pointy-eared little bastards and their garish outfits...They're a thorn in my side).
Grin ahh ..  well you are a good sport, having put up with the Eldar so often.  You (or someone else) could always start a thread on "tips for beating the Eldar".  You may even get some Eldar players giving a few things away Wink

Grin hey there have come to visit the club a couple of times have loved tabletop games since i was a kid but haven't played in over 15 years ( yep i,m older but inexperienced ) i still love the GW universe and are working on a 40k ork army( even with the old codex i know i should wait ) as we speak my line topic is are there a few like me out there i mean played when they were younger but stopped (discovered girls beer etc) but kept wandering into GW stores buying the odd white dwarf. i wouldn't be writing this if it wasn't for my 6 year old son discovering my old ( badly painted ) miniatures in a box and trying to explain to him what a blood angel is ( he now is so up with the play its SCARY)so is there anyone else out there like me starting again at a late age or do most player's have huge collections of miniatures from years of sweat toil and swearing at painting into the long hours of the night..... hope to have at least 500 points soon if anyone wants to help an old first timer

Welcome to the club! I've moved your post into the Introduce Yourself thread in case you're wondering where it went.

What's your name, btw? I'm Regan.

As far as small sized games go, I'm pretty sure all of our 40K players would be happy to play you. Most of use have lists written up for 4-500pt games for just this kind of occasion, so don't be shy.

Well my primary reason for posting was to try out the new PC.

My geek vocab is about 10 years old, so my descrption of the PC is a bit patchy, but it has a 4800 amd processor, M2A-VM HDMI mother board, 2 gig RAM and a decent sized hard drive. I haven't a clue what most of that means as my last PC was a pentium 120.

Great, glad you found us.

In regards to finishing a whole army - nobody at the club seems to mind playing against unpainted models, so don't feel too much pressure to have a good looking army before you come in. More players > fewer players with painted armies....

Some of you will know me already... Dave Foster.

Playing 40K for 'bout 5 years now and startin to get the hang of it.  I keep changing armies see. Started with SM Raven Guard, Graduated to CSM Iron Warriors and nowadays have gone to the Dark side of Eldar.  Who wants to be the other "only" Dark Eldar player around.

Hi there

Username: Eisenhorn
Real Name:James Irwin
Game: Warhammer 40000
Armies: 2000pt Tyrinids, 2500pt Space marine, 500pt Imperial guard and my son has 1000pt Tau

I've been collecting for about 8 years but still have heaps of unpainted models. although I am slowly getting there (with help). I'm keen to play whoever as my mates are sick of the nids, and I'm sick of facing the same armies over and over even tho I'm not that good and i'm sure they fel the same. My mate put me onto this site after reading about it in the white dwarf so i thought I'd have a look at a club day, everyone there was cool and there were some mean conversions

Hello,

Real name: Daniel
Game: 40k
Army: Space wolves

I spent time doing 40k and FOW some 4-5 years ago way back in 3rd ed and gave up playing about when 4th ed was coming online. You guys may have seen me down at the club a couple times already-I've popped in to take a look at the haps, recognised a couple of you guys although Daemion was the only one to remember me. I've just been roped back by the nostalgia of 40k (GW seems to be good at that) and unearthed my paints (most of which have dried up and have been thrown out). Currently Sundays are a hassle for me- I typically have martial arts training from 2-4, OR from 11-2 then hockey then MA again from 5-7pm. Come October though things should be less hectic on sundays and i should be able to get a game in.
