so for my birthday over the last weekend i was in matamata for lunch and had the suprise present trip to hobbition (kitsen was there he will back me up on this) it was fantastic.

it has just been put back together to the standards of the flims before all the plywood doors are gone and the props are back all over the place it looks just like lord of the rings. it had been closed down for fliming but will be back open in 6 months or close to it. it costs around a 100 bucks to do the trip but it well worth it and its currantly in a better state than the tours used to be with any luck in 6 months time it will still look the same or close to it.

a shot in the dark but i recon im not the only lord of the rings fan hear go see it when it re opens i have photos to back this up it looks brilliant

Happy Birthday, olde farte.

I went to Hobbiton in '04 but deigned to hug the party tree. There was much talk back then of whether or not the site would be restored or returned to it's initial condition, as per the original contract.

Happy to hear that it's back to the way it should be, and that you got to see it.
