Players Packs for Equinox 2012 next years Events are Still WIP. This years Players Packs will be sent to you on request via email or PM for reference as they will be very similar to 2012's bar a fe updates due to new codexes etc. Good to see the swarm of interest.

Please be patient with payment checking as I don't check the tournament account regularly. If you have made the deposit into the account supplied then you will have a guaranteed entry into the tournament.

I am really keen to come up to Equinox next year. Just a few queries. I really enjoyed coming up for guardcon this year, was a great event. Was a bit confused on the hard caps system. I am a fan of the system, but I was going to bring up my Orcs until i found out that i couldn't run double manglers, so brought the warriors instead. The caps said no double rare but I am pretty sure there was an Orc army with a double rare choice.

Are the Hard caps the be all and end all? Or does it depend on the type of Army and what else is in it? Double Salamnders compared with double giants for instance?

I was at guardcon with the double manglers! It was me!
The comp pack did actually allow for a single double rare choice to be made, it wasnt very clear however and can see how one could mistake what was written.
I was confuzeled at first read as well

Hey mate, I was very surprised when I received questions about no double rares as well and then realised that it had been spread via a blogger who didn't have the players pack. Good ol interweb boil over again
The pack does allow for 1 double rare and then it goes into examples of double rares that will not be acceptable for instance Screaming skull catapults, Hydras etc. It did leave itself to interpretation but that's a good thing as it also leaves the TO a opportunity to assess your list in terms of what double rares you took. All in all it was an unspoken veto option if there were a excessive over powered option in terms of the army design. This years pack will have a written veto claus and will be more defined in this area.

You'll find that Equinox will be the standard tournament on the Warhammer calendar. It will try to change as little as possible any suggested hard caps from current ETC guidelines. I am a TO who is more relaxed and understands that 8th edition offers an opportunity for all armies to be fielded under a very good set of hard cap restrictions that succeed in levelling as much as possible army power levels.

Hard caps are always pretty firm and the Players pack that will be released will also reflect this. ETC restrictions are a fantastic set of rules to work off for a tournament pack and the international panel that have gathered to create it I have a very high level of respect for. The tournament pack that will be released will have no NZ TO influence on its decisions as I'm sure they can decide on their own style of tournament for their own events. There will be an international panel that will also help me to decide on any aspects that needs to be looked at for example the new Ogre Kingdoms book and its influence on tournament play.
