Hey all,

I just discovered this link on Tabletop Gaming News:

http://thegamesshed.wordpress.com/2011/07/02/in-the-emperors-name/

It's a 40k skirmish system which doesn't use 40k rules at all. I would describe the concept of the game as similar to Inquisitor, with each player selecting a leader and their retinue. The author basically says he loves the 40k Universe but feels the rules have become too unwieldy for what he likes to play. I've taken a look and it looks like a lot of fun.

Cool points:
Free rules (get them now before the inevitable Cease & Desist order comes in :-P)
Basic rules are only 3 pages long
Use your existing 40k figs
Rules for boarding actions using Space Hulk/Space Crusade tiles
Campaign system
Forthcoming generic sic-fi version of the rules will kick off with Stargate rules

I'm keen to have a go of this system at some point (particularly the Space Hulk variant). if anyone wants to help me playtest, let me know!

Nice work, Dave. I'm going on holiday at the end of September for a month but if you want to bash before then, let me know.

I have a massive imperial guard army now.  I'll be playing games with those guys in the near future.
