Hey guys,

We played the ESC (Singles) the last 2 days, I ended up 2nd and Joe was 11th (and not too pleased ).

Day off tomorrow to watch the Ashes and maybe play some practice games (ugh).

1) We Smashed the Ozzies 

2) Other than that we mostly sucked!!! 

3) We all had a GREAT time 

4) We all ate FAR too much Cheese (possibly except Mal who was too busy getting drunk)


We are hoping to get a team together for Poland in 2012 (should at least be cheaper than Switzerland). If anyone is interested, let me know.

looking over the lists there was a heap more cheese from some of the other countrys than new zealand brought to the table did you guys think you where bringing a knife to a gun fight

My thoughts on our lists (post event)

Dark Elves (me) - pretty damn hard. Very happy with the list.
Vamps - pretty tough. Different list to the Black Knight bus, but raise vamps can't be made much harder
Bretts - Reasonably solid list.
Daemons - Good list... big pappa is full of win
Lizards - not as solid as some of the others, (a Twin Slann + twin Temple guard looked pretty amazing to me) but definitely still a good list.
TK - not great. For TK I think the list was fine, but TK just aren't 'that' good a book
WoC - worst list we took (imho). I think Joe still has plans to get it to work, but it was too vulnerable to  shooting, and Joe seems to have to play every game perfectly to get a result.
Skaven - solid Skaven list. A few more 'throw aways' might have helped.


Overall, I thought our lists were up to the job, although not as tough as some others. I think we missed having 'shooty' lists (or lists that can take on shooty armies), as Orcs/dwarfs/empire match-ups caused us a few problems.


Luck was a factor as well. I played vamps and couldn't stop a single spell (vs 10-12 power dice a turn). I killed 80 Grave guard during the game, and got 0 points for them..... James got a unit of knights dwellered/shot and both lords in the unit killing blowed by the 'broken WE in ONE turn.


I think the plan for 2012 is to go harder... but we'll see.

i have read the lists and i do like the look of the dark elves you took there did not look like many underused points in it your general looks so hard to kill
and twin black guards a winner
i know there hard but im not a fan of twin slann builds one mage lord is enough for any army
