Is it just me...or does the behaviour of Adidas remind you of a certain company?

Just to re-cap:

"Your prices are twice that of overseas. How can you justify that?"
"Well, you see, that's what we reckon we can get for them here, so that's the price. Oh, and just to make sure you do pay those prices, we are now going to try and stop you buying them from overseas using the internet"

Or am I being a little over sensitive?

lol was just thinking that today.

They also said they invest alot into the community so thats how they are justifying their prices. They must share the same PR guy GW uses.

Its classic what Adidas are doing. The mass of public outcry around it shows how unfair such a situation is seen by consumers.
Enen the excuses adidas use are similiar to other industries tactics

The mass of public outcry includes a boycott of all Adidas products on FB. NZ is a small consumer nation and we have been over charged for decades. It is about time that we took a stand do some thing about it. Perhaps 'Key' will even step up to the plate but I doubt it.

well i'd suspect that his loyalties would lie with the invisible hand of the free market to work its magic and prices would go down due to consumer pressure.  which is what Rebel Sport has done i suppose

Crazy thing the Adidas All Black jerseys have been expensive since day one. Crazy that its taken the Rugby World Cup to be held here for there to be a stink kicked up.
I went to Oz in 2007 just before the last World Cup, the jersey was $ 240 at Auckland airport, I bought one in OZ for $ 160 NZ, and in France 2009 I bought one for $100 nearly bucks cheaper than in NZ. If I have my knee operation before September (Damn ACC, been told now could be maybe October), I will be hopefully heading for the UK and plan to buy an AB jersey (along with an Arsenal jersey) there.

Found the close up segment interesting.  Although the company isn't gonna budge on the price, they did see the need to do some PR to avoid looking like complete villains.  It's hard not to look villainous when sainsbury torches you like that though.  Not that i'm sticking up for adidas here, I would have looked around for some way to make a concession to the public if i'd been them.

Adidas have now reversed thier decision on overseas online retailers due to the bad PR. Pity GW is too blinkered/stubborn to do the same.

Space Marine is out early September, looks a heck of a lot better than the last consule 40k game "Fire Warrior". Its put out by THQ who definately put out quality games. My cry foul is if its only multi player online and no horde mode.
Skelator your on for that key ring and Daemion, I guess you would be sweet with a Liverpool one  Grin
No I'm not that sad, it the real deal or nothing.

Fire Warrior was a good game its main draw back to me was lack of multi player options that was quite bland but story mode was cool being arse as computer games i almost finished it as well only one level short

It looks like a gears of war game basically, it's even coming out within a few weeks of gears of war and the multi looks similar though slightly more hectic.

I've got it pre-ordered because my inner geek wants to play with the armour editor.

yeah i'm up to date with all the gameplay footage, i just mistook Rhok's post as him already having.  that, and me thinking the release was in august and not sept, and i got muddled up.

i'll still get this and give it a hoon, but may wait on the initial reviews first.  like i said, the gameplay footage i've seen seems pretty shallow, so i'm worried i'll get bored too quick after the initial cool-factor of being a marine squashing stuff wears off.
