There may be a few of us from Wellington for Fantasy if the Comp system is a sensible hard cap system - flagged early enough so that people can make an informed decision.

.

Fantasy

Books released after January 1st 2012 will not be allowed.

?? 3 months not enough notice to read a new army book, this might put off a lot of players. I think you seriously need to look at this, I can appreciate early organisation, and comp but penalising gamers by not allowing a 8th ed army book its a tad unfair IMO.

With Vampire Counts Rumoured to be released on January 5th, I think many would welcome the new book at Nats.

I understand Carl has extended cutoff to 31 January so it is new VC book, not old

Hi Guys,

In the plethora of info that is flowing round the place, you may have missed that the Early Bird Price for NatCon, closes in 6 days time.  ie 29 Feb 2012.

We now have access to another half sized gym that is in the same building as where we were at NICon last year.

Rob

Hi Rob,

Do you have any idea on numbers for the various competitions?

Thanks

It would be interesting to see the results of this tournament.
Can any one post up the full placings and armies taken?
Or link to where they are already posted

Truly one of the most poorly run and disappointing Natcons that I have ever been to.  Sad

Don't think that I'll be spending my money or time on playing at anymore events where there is blue plastic on the floor, no on site access to food & drink, a high entry fee (and subsequent small fields) in the future.

I too was surprised by the low WHFB turnout, initially I had one or two reasons in mind but your assessment is probably more accurate now that I think about it.

Personally I really enjoyed NATCON though.  The events I enterred were smoothly run and it wasn't too hard to visit the dairy across the road.

Hi Vod,

After your venting on the BF Forum I was really surprised you actually came at all.  But playing in your first wargaming love was neat to see.

I have been to the last dozen odd NatCon's and haven't seen you at many - perhaps you could supply the years youy attended.

I am thoroughly looking forward to someone in Auckland stepping up, after we here in the Mighty Waikato have carried the Northern part of the country for the past 4 NatCons.

Phil Wouster has suggested that Cityguard bid for 2015 - and the Hamilton Immortals have already said we will be enthusiatic supporters of such a bid.

Hutt Valley is hosting NatCon 2013 (awarded hosting rights at Easter this year), and in the order of things the Christchurch Cavaliers have said  they will take their turn in 2014.

I suggest you approach Phil, and perhaps offer to umpire, so you get a chance to show the benefits of your experiences.  I look forward to the leadership that you will be providing.

All the best,

Rob
