Back when I was the web moderator guy, I just went through pages of signups and deleted them, pulling out anything that looked sure to be a real person, for example if the e-mail included a name I knew or an alias to do with wargaming (bloodangel@gmail.com) etc.  Are the current web mods just getting more laid back about this or are the spam bots getting smarter?

Bots are getting smarter, but Lumpy is onto it and will try to screen them better. Good on you mods for keeping up the good work.

Back when you deleted half the Wargaming community and they couldn't get on our forums. Not a situation we'd want to repeat.
