I completely agree with you damian and i too am not going to buy warhammer this year and get into warmachine instead.

What are you looking at picking up bro? I haven't put faces to half the names on this board yet but I am real keen to see all these new players down the club in the coming weeks.

The last time I bought something from gw was back around christmas. Seems I'm doing well without them. Added bonus is that I can focus on my themed guard army, doesn't even require much in the way of gw product.

Heard something interesting the other day, not sure if true.

But apparently a guy left his new Gandalf in the sun and it melted. If based on fact it is a bit of a worry.

Cheers that clears the situation up. From what he says it seems it is easy to get replacements on defective models to which is a positive.

If you go Cryx, I've got a starter set, two boxes of Bane Thralls (Bane Knights are marginally superior, but I liked the Thralls), Deathy and Liche Lord Terminus you can have for dirt cheap.
The starter stuff (Deneghra, Slayer and Deathchickens) are an incredibly useful backbone just by virtue of sheer utility, the Banes eat stuff good, and Deathy is a monster... especially in conjunction with Denny's debuffs

It's mostly assembled, but unpainted.

If you're interested or want to try them out, just gimme a buzz. Hopefully you'll look at this before paying retail on anything  Grin

Just FYI Bane Thralls are not worse than Knights, more people take a min pack of Thralls at least to be debuffing cleanup crew than take Bane Knights in my experience. They are both great units and you can't fault anyone for taking either.

That said I would be on thralls anyway myself.

Righto, just a note for those following the thread:

I'm selling my Cryx for $100
Well below listed retail cost, but I'm not using them so I might as well make some marginal profit.
HarasinCreed or Rasputin, I'll be at the Guard meeting this weekend. If either of you put in an appearance you can have them.
If not, Big D has kindly offered to take them off my hands for the insanely low price, but he won't be able to grab them until after the 20th, and as I initially pitched the offer to Harasin, and Rasputin spoke up second, fair being fair, if you get to me before Big D does, they're yours.

Full disclosure: In my starter box, Denny's spear snapped off. Nothing major, should be an easy fix, I just never got round to it because I never play >.<
Also, slayer's shoulder spike went walkabouts. Frustrating, but it's identical to the one on the other shoulder, so if one were to cast the shoulder spike and make a duplicate the problem is solved. Otherwise, his shoulder is slightly less spikey. Minor conversion work could cover it easy. Again, never got round to it because I never play. I'll make a concerted effort to track down the spike soon, when I've got the time to give my place a thorough going-over and clean. Chances are it's rattling around in one of my Official Transport Containment Units (otherwise known as washed-out icecream containers).
Only about half the Bane Thralls are assembled, because I hate assembling Bane Thralls. And I haven't glued Deathy's arms into place yet because they're pinned quite well and being able to remove the arms made transport so much easier.
Terminus is unassembled, because frankly the thought of assembling him was daunting as all get out.

A full try-before-you-buy policy is in place. You can have a look-over of the models, and try 'em out in a game, before you commit to purchasing.

Really, I'd love to play WarMachine, but I play too many games with too little time already, so this lot should go to someone who'll actually get some use out of them now that my BA's have replaced my cryx as the army I'm totally going to paint as an artistic project... eventually... one of these days... you'll see

Rasputin's bowed out due to Not Having Cash To Spare Right Now.

Also if anyone wants to sponsor my membership to Cityguard it'll sweeten the deal  Grin
(I'm a student, any help I can get  Wink )

Kinda regret the selling, but it's time to be realistic about time

I will give you your Membership for the year and $50 for everything but the battlebox on the condition you paint it and play Warmachine at Guardcon  Grin

People may then purchase your Cryx off me for $20 Banes, Banes, Deathjack (Save people the hassles of no cash or flying to Raro)

There's a certain degree of cognitive dissonance in trying to persuade me to both play with my Cryx and sell my Cryx =P

And yet, you are tempted  Grin

Hows about this? I will take them at the asking price but you must paint the BBox and play Warmachine at Guardcon, then you can have the bbox back.

You see, the disincentive is me painting the damn things. Part of the motivation here is having fewer miniatures to paint  Wink
