Hey, I was wondering if anyone has looked into the prospect of placing an advert widget on this forum?

It could generate a slow income stream for the city guard.

Not much point, really. As I understand it, advertising revenue is based on how many clicks you get on the ad, and I very much doubt anyone would bother. I don't know what the costs of maintaining the forum are, but I doubt they're so high that we'd need advertising and all the annoyances that entails to offset them.

Yes correct, pay per click. I imagine the forum cost almost nothing to run. The funds would be for the benifit of the club. The amounts would be small but over a year or two could be enough for a bbq at the club or some such social event. Its not somthing you have to manage once its set in place, you just have the tiny revenue stream trickling in.

I don't know about everyone else, but with no script and ad block plug-in's installed on my browsers at work and home I don't think I would even see the ads let alone click on them Tongue

Ad banners are a nice way for malware to get in via scripts.
