What-ho Chaps!
The call has been heard and I shall not disappoint; at this years Can Opener I shall sally fourth my Warband and make a...
Return to MordheimThe tourney of the year is back! Which may sound bold, and maybe even cocky, but just ask the participants of last years event what the hot mumble was all about to see what thou miss'd!
Date: The Eighteenth Day of the Month of June the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand and Eleven.
Registration cut off is the Twelfth Day of the Month of June which be a Saturday so I can sort out things the following day at the club.
Cost:$10 and three cans of food.
Tourney RulesOnly Warbands from the main rules book may be used unless I, the Tourney Organizer, make an exception.Return to Mordheim will be run in an informal style with fix'd warbands that gain no experience.
The rules used will be those as read in the rule book under the heading "Fighting Individual Battles" on page 165.
Strictly one on one games play'd on a four foot by four foot table.
The Gold limit will be 1000gc. This will give enough men or skills to make the games exciting. 500gc is just to small to hold the interest in a tourney with no experience upgrades, treasure, trading etc...
This tourney will be strictly battle orientated:
A win/loss system will be the order of the day on a ladder table: An opponent will only be played once.
Four games shall be played - plus the Finals, where just like last year, first on the ladder plays second, third plays fourth etc...
There are no draws in Mordheim; it isn't an option at all.
A prize will also be awarded for the most enemy kills through-out the tourney across all games. e.g. if you play four games and kill ten warriors in those four and the other competitors get less, you win. A tally chart will be used to keep a record... simple stuff really.
A time limit of 55 minutes per game will be in place.
How-ever! For those incredible games that sees two warbands of equal stature locked in a bitter struggle to the end, e.g. no-one is failing a rout test, a Victory Points system will be put in place.
If there are an odd number of participants a bye will have to happen I'm afraid. Sad, but, well, there it is.
Time-table:I shall most likely be arriving at half past the hour of eight or there-abouts to set up the tables and fight off the other gamers participating in lesser systems who have suddenly realized the error of their ways!

All times are approximate:
9:15 Introduction - So, what is this"Mordheim" game anyway?
9:30 First game
10:25 Morning tea
10:40 Second game
11:40 Third game
12:35 Luncheon
1:05 Fourth game
2:05 THE FINALS!
3:15 or so: Prize giving
Scenarios! Each match, across all tables simultaneously, will be played using one of the following scenarios which will be determined by my own reckoning on the day:
Street-fight
Defend The Find
Two of my own devising:
Capture the Cannon
Recruitment Drive
The Final shall be Skirmish.
Consult the rules book; ignore the experience and Wyrdstone parts.
One will need:-$10 fee and three cans
-a fully painted warband (no un-painted models this year!)
-a knowledge of the rules
-a warband roster
-a rule book. If thou have none;
-a knowledge of the rules
-dice
-tape measure
-a winning attitude and a smiley golden face
-a writing tool
-a scrap of paper
-terrain if thou art bringing some
-cans
-a good nights sleep before-hand
The Usage of CansThis will be fairly simple: one can for one re-roll of a die that you cast. If you wish to force your opponent to re-roll a die, two cans must be used.
How-ever many cans are brought is up to the player bringing them. If one wishes to use no cans through-out the tourney - fine. If one wishes to use many - fine. The main idea of this tourney is FUN.
Other stuff:Pay careful note to the rules regarding the purchase of Skills on page 165.
Once again - there is NO experience.
Great-weapons and other two handed things that the rule book says strike LAST! do not. If you charge with one of said weapons the charger goes first.
No mounts this year. Horsey's, big rats etc.
No Dramatis Personae are allowed.
Last year Hired Swords were rather good... a little too good. So:
Hired Swords may be Hired. But! Add the gold crown and the upkeep cost together to make a purchase... then double it! e.g. Pit Fighter: 30gc + upkeep of 15gc = 45gc times two =90gc
Because lets face it, otherwise they are pretty cheap for what you are getting, and the destruction they brought to last years tourney was impressive.
No more than two Hired Swords per warband.
Prizes:First: $50 voucher from Vagabond in the town
Second: $25 voucher from Vagabond in the town
Destroyer (most kills across all games): Something really good.
The Players:Lezle - Mercenaries
Andrew - Possessed
Mike - Witch Hunters
