I would drop the hammerers and take 2 bigger miner units or 1 big hammerer unit and 1 big miner unit.

and give the thane rune of furnace and rune of fire

I don't see much use with 15 long beards with shields, the unit is too small to cancel steadfast, too weak to do any damage, too expensive to use as a throw away unit. If you just want to have a cheap unit to carry the grungi banner, just take 10 longbeards and keep them at the back.

I don't think you need the grungi banner anyway, I would drop all the longbeards and take 2 big blocks of warriors with great weapons.

It's such a pity you have to take Dwarf Warriors (or alternatively, that they can't take a magic banner Sad). I agree with Simon about the Longbeards  - strip them down and just take the banner or go hard and push more into the unit. Also agree on the Runes for the BSB instead of Rune of Might.

Unconvinced about Rune of Battle for the Hammerers but can't offer you a better option (unless you put Grungi there instead). You're either going to beat stuff to a pulp with their superior WS and the General weighing in, or you'll grind them out. So they'll either be bigger (and therefore Steadfast) or smaller (and therefore... dead). 25pts that doesn't seem to add much (?).

How about dropping the Longbeards and putting in some Rangers? They're hugely annoying and with the Anvil and your +1 to deploy they could really ruin someones day.

25x Dwarf Warriors   Great Weapons   Veteran   Standard Bearer   Musician

1x Grudge Thrower   Ro Accuracy   Ro Penetrating  Ro Fire
15x Miners   Prospector   Standard Bearer   Musician  Steam Drill
15x Miners   Prospector   Standard Bearer   Musician
24x Hammerers   Gate Keeper   Standard Bearer   Musician

Rare
1x Organ Gun

Swapped the Longbeards and Ro Battle for another large unit of Warrors,an Oath Ston (which I wanted to include first time around but forgot) and a Steam Drill. The two 15 man miner units have been  tried and tested by myself and they make exceptional flankers/warmachine hunters  and put the sh*ts up a lot of people.

The Runes of Furnace and Fire are handy on the Thane and are what I have been running. However I have dropped them for a couple of reasons. Dropped fire because big Regen monsters don't generally make it to my battle line. Dropped Furnace because lets face it, when was the last time you saw Lore of Metal?

Can't take a GW on a BSB otherwiseI would. Ro Might is a decent compromise and is especially funny when I let a enemy characters unit recieve flesh-to-stone

I was tempted to make my login here 'Bigger D'  Wink

Back to the anvil mate? Looks closer to your OTT list, but I think it's the right choice.

Being that I am trying o keep it within the most common Hard Cap reqiurements (IE: no more than 4 warmachines), no. There is no way a Gyro, while fun, is better than any of the 4 warmachines I already have.

No, specifically states you cannot move a gyro with the anvil. Which beg anoter qustion - as a flyer, is the gyro counted as a skimisher? And therefore ableto march and shoot?

It's basically a 3 wound dwarf with fly. If it counts as a skirmsher because of fly it gets a lot better, otherwise its only good for Fuffycon

Str 3, -1 flame template. Still does partial hits. Probbly cannot march and fire. Completely nerfed by 8th ed.

And Dwarves are perfectly capable of running people down, mine do it all the time.
