Just finished my Hell cannon
A couple of explanations over choice:
I wanted to try something different, instead of the boring shiny boltgun metal with silver highlight method, I decided I want the hellcannon to look rusty and ancient. I imagine hellcannon is an ancient daemonic machine of doom, which is probably over 1000 years old.
The next thing is the verdigris. (The natural patina formed when brass is weathered over a period of time.) It works nicely with rusty metal.
