Hi folks,

It's that time where we ask those who attended BattleCry to tell us what they liked and didn't like. So please message me with your positives, negatives, ideas and suggestions please. We want next year to be even better Smiley

Regards,
Karen

Thanks to everyone who put in the hard yards, I had a great time.

My only comment is that it would have been nice to see new missions for 40K, it was the same as last year. Otherwise keep up the good work! Cheesy

great weekend. my only complaint is that someone droped the ball for comp judging for 40k.

i mean a raven wing list with 18 meltas gets a 5 for comp?!!!! ( it had 3 x 3 man units with 2 meltas Roll Eyes). no reflection on doug, hes a top bloke.

an eldar army that takes eldrad gets a 1 for comp? really?really?!!!

Everything not related to comp was handled well.

Comp? I want to challenge Dave to put his dice where his mouth is and try to beat any 3.5 army in the room with my 2.5er. Or even the army of 1-9 ogres.

Has the score sheet been sent out for 40K? I'm keen to see what my comp and painting scores were Cheesy

Sounds like Nicon maybe onto something with zero comp? Smiley

Is comp 1 good or comp 5 good.

Full points is 5 out of 5 for comp, this should mean your list is about as fluffy as it gets.

not necessarily fluffy, rather 'fair' in the eyes of the judge.

it was abloody good weekend for want of a better word for it

great work dave and also to all the girls who spent the whole weekend in the kitchen i think you deserve a mention for all your hard work you put in keeping the troops fed and watered

my 2 cents on fluffycon are it was well run i guess having a teacher as TO is a great idea. not taking any rubbish from anyone as i guess you have heard it at school . your always going to get some pplayers not happy about there comp score. its very hard to get spot on and i think there are only a few players deep down who feel they where due more for comp and only a few lists that should of got less for comp

my comp i think 2.5 was fair but your still going to have hard match ups against higher scoreing comp armies and by the same token have easier games against lover scoreing harder armies . the case with me was i plaied jeremys vamps who had a 1 for comp and head to head my list was harder but his list would of done much better against brets sticking the knights to an unbreakable unit adn grinding them down

battle cry in general i really liked the look of the game at the front door the historical british and egyiptains vs the sundan / madhi armies

I felt it was the best BC I've been to yet; gets better every time.

With some full on (corporate?) sponsors and perhaps a little more finesse (which I admit is completely un-kiwi) I think it could be a super full on convention to rival everything in NZ.

...but that might just be me.

Only complaint: Not enough beer, or air conditioning.

surprised how a whole netball stadium can heat up like that.

great BC this year, not much difference for me from last year but if something ain't broke don't fix it.  was a little bit miffed about the dude on the PA announcing stuff, he always seemed to pipe up in the middle of a game and throw you off your momentum.

but i guess you have to get the word out some how so isn't a big deal.

forgot to use my raffle tickets from the loot bag this year.

oh, and i think i left a couple of brown craters that must've been packed up with the rest of the 40k terrain.

overall i had a blast and tanks to

Hey Karen, I think most of the guys on this forum were pretty immersed in their super fun gaming and weren't paying a lot of attention to the event as a whole, but who can blame them.  Thanks for the good work you always do with the promotional and organising side of things.  So who was it that left their car in the carpark with the alarm blaring all day long?

I had a blast. I got to play heaps of games with some quality opponents, catch up with an old mate or two and put some faces to the names of people I have met on this forum.

I must admit I was surprised at the number of unpainted armies, both in 40K and Fantasy. I don't know why I was surprised, I guess I had some sort of preconception I suppose.

There was the odd breach of WYSISYG, but it was all explained prior so it didn't matter at all.

I'll definitely be back next year (and aiming for a higher comp  Wink)

You were lucky, I versed a Space Marine player who didn't tell me what his units actually had until he shot with them. In the end I reckon he didn't even know what they were armed with.

Hahaha speaking of unpainted armies, it was a little bit of a bummer to see a few special characters taken by armies that were not matching *cough* Vulkan *cough* I say comp/painting deductions should be applied Cheesy

Whinging aside, I'll sign up for next year right now Smiley was a blast!

they're brown with a bit of green flock and the cardboard base is cut from the box for a tyranid trygon. but i didn't think to name them as i treated them like my models and didn't forsee that i'd be dumb enough to leave them lying around.  i can recognise them easily enough, but its not like they're prized possessions or anything.

likelihood is i'll make up another bunch anyway, so the club can keep them

To bad most of the space marine players there where crap. The one with the lysander with ultra marines was funny as. He bowed down to belial and his boys. Also a bit of dodgy measuring going on also i saw.

Four SM on SM matches for myself, one of them was even the same chapter! Right James Cheesy

I'm going to expedite my Necron army, I think there was only one dude representing the tin cans at battlecry.

First game was against daemons, then 5 straight games Vs loyalist marines. Still good games though.

I didnt go against any normal loyalists. Only Black templars, Bloodangles and Chaos Marines and one eldar army. If space marines were not so awsome i would go as another race next year.

heh. my generic marines led by 2 craplains did well. much better than i thought. dont need special characters to do ok i guessl. 2 hard fought wins, 3 solid draws, 1 absolute pasting of a loss vs damn daemons!! yay for me! 10th place and best sport cause im freaking o for awsum!

bit of feedback tho... why were us 40k slobs so jammed up? we had the same space allocated as fantasy and we were almost double numbers than them. got a bit tight squeezing thru tables there....

also, the waiting time between 40k games was a bit fricking boring... i thought i was gonna pop a blood vessel there for a while i was getting antsy wanting to play the next game.

comp 0' bartosh of the north? will be no comp at grumpy daemon bro. dont believe in it. as to doug the ravenwing players comp score. heh. dunno much bout that but i got 3?

was real good meeting the northland boys. gave me sumone different to talk to and relate to.  played 5 new people. not a single crap game or opponent.

Warhammer players need more space due to most of them are the same size as 3 40k players.
