Now now, we can't have you crying at home!
If no one has a spare fleet, I came prepared with print outs of the sample fleets you can use (colour printed cardboard tokens for the Iron Dwarves and Orc fleets).
As for the rules, they are fairly easy to pick up and I'll be happy to help out.
If there are uneven numbers I'd be happy to step aside for a bit and act as an umpire/rules adviser for the first couple of games

Ok i would like to play a game this Sunday if the number of people is ok if uneveness is a problem i wont play. I have not played before so i am clueless as to how it works. Also i would need to borrow your other fleet if i could James and if it is possible get a lift back with you. If none of these things will workout that is fine i will stay home and have a cry instead.

Excellent. My partner has decided she'd rather go to the beach than play with toy ships, so we have even numbers at 4 people. Looking forward to it!

Good games were played last week, with a win to the Imperial Humans and the Iron Dwarves (one lot of them anyway).

As I mentioned, I found this set of rules that I think would be perfect to use for our little campaign

All good, I had a good game against the Iron Dwarves. They soundly thrashed me, and a little dwarven frigate fired the final shot that sank my Battelship

The Scenario we rolled was basically the 'pitched battle' - I think in future I might remove that one from the list of scenario, as I don't find it very satisfying.
We both noticed that after a certain point the game starts to drag, as you circle around and start to slowly chip away at the opponents last remaining ships. I might sign up to the Spartan Games forums just so I can pose a question - how do other players deal with this? Perhaps a 'caster kill' condition like Warmachine would make the game better (credit Hausdorff space )

In other news, I just bought 2 blue bed sheets so we don't need to play on grass any more
Also got an order planned to get some more ships...
