Here is the tournament brief as what's on the website:

The 40K tournament will follow standard GamesWorkshop tournament guidelines, with armies made up of 1 detachment of 1850 points.

Army lists must be sent to Wayde at info@theamericaclub.net.nz before the 1st of February, and must be in either Word or Excel format. Lists in Army builder format are not allowed.

All army lists are full and final when submitted unless an amendment is requested by the TO.

Special characters will be allowed, HOWEVER special characters are unique. 1 of each special character will only be allowed in the tournament. Ie There will only be 1 Tycho in the whole tournament, only 1 Eldred in the whole tournament etc. (Masters of the Death Wing and Masters of the Raven Wing (titles) will be exempt) To register your special character, you must be the first person to register the use of the “named” special character when you register your whole legal army list. (first in first served) A list of taken/registered special characters will be updated regularly on the BattleCry website and the CityGuard forums.

There will be 6 matches played over the weekend, 3 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday, with missions being assigned on the day.

Saturday registration starts at 7:30am.
1st round 8:30am to 11am
2nd round 12:00 to 2:30pm
3rd round 3pm to 5:30pm

Sunday checkin from 7:30am.
4th round 8:30am to 11am
Player painting competition judging 11:45am to 12
5th round 12:00 to 2:30pm
6th round 3pm to 5:30pm

Please make sure you bring along two mission objective markers.

Places in this tournament are limited to 50. So pre-register to guarantee your place.

The final match will be followed up with some fun board and card games while we pack up and wind down for the Warhammer 40K Prize Giving around 6pm.

very cool.... thanks karen, might i suggest u list up in the other thread just how many Masters of the Death Wing and Masters of the Raven Wing there are going to be as they are submitted? Smiley Be good to see how many old school Dark Angels are taking part.

I've checked with Wayde, he doesn't want a list at this stage, but closer to the day he will summarise the submitted army lists so people have an idea of what sorts of armys are being played. So not at the moment.

Rightio, it's been 3 weeks since registrations opened for BattleCry and we have 25 people already registered. Shocked That's half the tournament filled already and we still have 4 months to go. If you are planning to play and haven't registered yet, may I suggest you do it soon so you don't miss out!  Grin

hahahahahahaha haha. i just counted up the regos and matched some names up.... 11 players that came to my grumpy daemon so far r gona be at battlecry... heh. shud be awesum!

Rightio folks, the Players Pack is ready to go. It's on the BattleCry website on the 40K page http://battlecry.battlecry.co.nz//40k  for downloading. I'll also be sending it out to anyone pre-registered...

3 days, no can do... but we are looking to see if we can increase the numbers. A big part of the cap is to do with space, but also to do with equipment... we will need more tabletops, and terrain etc...

But it's not just 40K numbers that are exceeding our expectations at this early in the event... the upgrading of our Flames of War event to GT and the Warmachine to NZ Masters has upped the profile... likewise with a couple of the non-wargaming events too... 2011 will be epic Smiley

Maybe we should raise it to 100 next year make it 3days long that would be fun.

And it's gone. We have reached the 50...

I am now taking a waiting/reserves list incase of cancellations and if we can extend the tournament numbers...

Any overseas players will get placed at the top of the waiting list...

Yeah, working on that. The army lists go directly to Wayde but I'm the one that updates the list so I'm waiting for the updated list from Wayde. Sorry for the delay...

Hey, I was late in getting my backside into gear (work was being a complete buzz kill about guaranteeing leave during this busy time), how would I go about getting myself onto the waiting list? Apply via website still?

Yes, fill in the registration form and you will get a reply letting you know where you are in the list.

We have just had 2 cancellations from the 40K tournament and I have no names on the waiting list so I now have 2 spaces in the event.

If you know of any players who haven't registered cause they thought the event was full please get them to register asap!!!
