just to throw in my 2 cents (although i am not yet playing fantasy),would it not make a tournament more exciting and alot more variety in army builds by having it capped at 2000.
by having the larger points limit you kind of know that the supa uber units will be included,in fact you would build your list to counter act or use your own super uber units.
which in its own merit can be an awesome style game Grin
but at the lower point limit, you can't be sure what your opponent will take.
will they take extra core units,or for go that for a smaller army with more rare and dangerous units. You yourself have to make thouse same decisions on your own build. do you risk putting all your Penny's (points) in one basket or play it a little more spread out amongst all your units.
and would it not make a game a little quicker allow for a couple of more rounds in the tournament?

I have serious problems with judges that believe there are instant veto options. If you are such one please step forward and explain yourself. EVERYTHING is relative...

Naked master general
200 corsiers
3 Hydras

Naked lvl 1 general
30 Warriors
80 Forsaken
2 Hellcannons

I still will never consider instant veto as a viable option for a normal tournament (hard caps, fluffycon, etc aside). I believe the problem is all the winging on the interweb regarding the brokeness. Yes, such things as 2 HC in addition to a normal tournament army will likely fall outside the power level of a normal tournament.

Larger points limit lets say 3000pts (2000 is more of a medium size) means that yes you could throw a lot more toys and would take longer to play.
All the uber-unit combinations would be there.
I think it be a lot of fun trying to field as much as you can.
Unfortunately Skaven players (and Gobbos) would probably run out of room on the table Smiley
