My bias opinion says take a whole herd of stegs and say thats your army theme! Iv got 3 you can borrow.
But on a more serious note 3 might be a little much I think if you didnt have a slann bsb it might be alright because stegs are stubborn on the generals LD now! In terms of effectiveness though id dont think there so excessive as there more of a points denial with there stubborn and in terms of damage if you charge them with something that cant be stomped they really cant do squat. I think you could get away with 3 but the rest of the list better make up for the monster cheese.

it depends on what else in your list.

I don't think it is "very" hard if it leads by a oldblood with no slann.
