I was just working through the rule book, and it doesn't specify that spears are 2-handed.
So have I been ripping my self off with the armour save?
I've always assumed it was a 2-handed weapon, but cavalry with spear get to take shield as well.

If you can take spear and shield, do you also get parry?
Parry specifically states handweapon shield. Are spears handweapons?

Spears don't have the "Requires Two Hands" special rule so you can use one and a shield at the same time and gain the increased armour save. However, it isn't a hand weapon so you don't get the Parry save.

Thread topic edit with administrator powers: spelling of spear changed from 'sear' to 'spear'.
