Well, yes I've started Flames of War as you can see and at the moment I'm lovin' it. I bought the rule book about a week ago to run through and decided to start a Soviet tank force. This is my first try at painting FoW before and I think it went rather well. All the paints used were GW brand just because I had them and couldn't spend anymore money on different paints (Battlefront's ones in other words).

Not bad at all.

You're ahead of me..  I'm still researching (unit history/makeup/basing/painting techniques) and filing smooth Panthers & PzrGrenadiers.

GW paints seem to be good to use assuming you thin them down well enough - and it looks like you have.  I've been adding slowly to my Vallejo range for painting mine - but likely to use some GW colours still.

Have you given any thought to adding some camo (bushes/netting etc etc) as well?

This is pretty much what most of the mass produced Russian tanks looked like. The only thing I'll be adding to my army is patches of snow on my troop bases with maybe a bit of ski infantry (white camo). I'm thinking about putting some snow around the tracks and bits of the hull but that's about it.
I was planning on whitewash but I don't want my army to look to out of place on tables that don't feature any snow.

Looks good, James.

"This is pretty much what most of the mass produced Russian tanks looked like."

Yip. That's right. Simple but effective. I have painted numerous Soviet vehicles (in 1/35 scale,) and after a while I started giving them battle damage just to break the monotony! Haha!
