This is my list that i am planing on using a bit has changed since battlecry, I have dropped the Doom and 10 genestealers and a lictor.

I have improved the stealers giving them the rerole and the gaunts with the poison, added venom cannons onto my carnys and HT i am finding these working very well and the models doing alot more in the game than just walking around.

I am still finding issues with.

Gaunts > they are dieing and i dont have the staying power they almost never make it into combat, i have tryed two venomthropes with them but the good player kills them first and i end up with the same outcome.

 Ravners> where getting into combat most games but where failling in combat and not killing anything i think the rending has helped.

Trygon > just is not working well at all for 200 points he just does not cut it try via deap strike and walking and no change, been thinking of changing him for a mawloc but not 100%

Warriors > are doing good they are keep the SN on the gaunt and ravners so the HT can stay with the other MC i think i am going to keep these in for sure. Not sure if the Boneswords are worth it they have not been in combat yet.

Stealers > tossing up between a strong 20man unit with BL or two 10man units with a BL each for this i need to drop stuff. I think two units would be good but my Kill points are really high.

well i already replied to your email, but i might as well just post responses here.

for your list, it looks like you've spread things across your FoC quite a bit.  you're presenting a lot of KPs there, and i tend to get more use out of large units that have the weight of wounds that keep them in the fight, as opposed to splitting into small units.  i've found my carnifexes generally like this too.  i can only imagine your lictors would prefer it too

i'd also drop the scything talons on the stealers for toxin sacs instead.  the re-roll on a 1 is useful, but you'll get far more rends from poisoned attacks that are generally re-rolling to wound because of the stealer's strength being equal or greater than the toughness of most army's base troops.

as for your issues of splitting up the stealer brood, i'd actually recommend doing it, in direct contradiction to what i've typed above. but you don't have to stick a broodlord into the second squad.  what i've done is deploy the two squads together, the brood w/o the broodlord acting as screening cover.  this has worked fairly well, and really, you don't need more than 10 stealers in CC to lay the smack on most units out there.

consider taking paroxysm over psychic scream for your hive tyrant.  i don't see much use for psychic scream and paroxysm is most definitely used more than any other psychic power in my army.

do you have any tyrant guard to walk with your hive tyrant?  i can't remember if you had any or not.  you kind of need the extra ablative wounds as he'll just be slowly foot slogging it across the board.

drop the toxin sacs on the trygon too, you're better off with adrenal glands if anything. wounding on a 4+ with a re-roll isn't as good as wounding on 2s

as for the rest of your issues in your second post;

gaunts> they're there to die unfortunately.   in fact, everything is.  i've read a tactica someone wrote, and his first point made a lot of sense; everything is expendable in your army.  you can't be precious about any of your units, because they're going to die.  but the ones that die should mean there's another unit not being shot at, and will bring a heap of trouble because they're just as dangerous.  your gaunts should operate as one large screening unit, bestowing cover saves to the rest of your foot troops.  they're an immediate threat, and with toxin sacs, are a viable threat against EVERYTHING that isn't a vehicle (or a nightbringer). they usually look so small people tend to ignore them, and at their own peril.  if they get shot up, no biggie - you still have a bundle of dangerous stuff on its way.

raveners> they're going to benefit from being one unit too.  its good they're getting into combat, but with only a bit of rending and no access to any toxin sacs, lower armour and vulnerability to instant death, you need the numbers there.  to get more wounds together and more attacks against anything they're up against.  i'd warn against throwing them against anything harder than a tactical squad.  i've only played with them a couple of times, but against marines, they've just gotten bogged down in combat because they've been unable to crack through their armour.  i'd almost suggest keeping them aside and perhaps dropping them for more gaunts, stealers or tyranid warriors.

trygon> big and scary, and that's what i use him for- he draws a lot of fire obviously so you might as well give him regenerate because of the number of wounds he has, he has a greater chance of recouping them.  and on the plus side, he's drawing fire from your other big units.  i've only deep striked him a couple of times, and it generally doesn't work all that well.  but remembering he has fleet, means you should be able to DS him well out of LOS and make up the rest of the distance.  there's not much i can offer in terms of keeping him safe, because he's a priority target.  you can only just play on that, try and gain cover saves to keep him alive and to keep the heat off your other more slower monstrous creatures.

warriors> hard to say how they'll do, but i'm glad they're working out for you.  if they're just playing the support role, you may want to save the points and just have them armed with their standard layout.  the points spent on the BS is wasted if they aren't seeing combat

i really want to model up some warriors with boneswords, or rather some Shrikes with boneswords and lash whips.  give them toxin sacs and i reckon they'll be the prefect marine killer.

my initial thought is... if u go with gaunts u need at least two max size units... and send em off to die as neckie said laz. if people are killing them they aint killing your good stuff right? send in the gaunts!
