It's been a while. Shall I pick a date that doesn't clash with other events and advertise a bring and buy Sunday afternoon?

How about a bring and buy Saturday afternoon? Cheesy

I would be there if I wasn't working Sundays.

Problem with Saturday is we have to pay for that day as well as the Sunday... and most people can only come and play 1 day per weekend. Also we currently have to book 18 month in advance for our events for Saturdays... we might have to wait awhile until a Saturday is free.

However I'll enquire about Saturdays for the next few months and see if any are free. I'll post here what I find out.

Yes, just turn up with what-ever you wish to sell, put a price on it, plonk it on a table, and off you go.

Vent, we pick a day, advertise it to as many wargamers around Auckland as possible that we are having a bring and buy to try and get loads of people turning up. We then set up some tables along the wall where people lay out what they want to sell/swap with their name and a price they want. And then people play as usual... and when you have a break you go look at all the goodies on display and talk to the owners to make deals. We had a pile of other Auckland wargaming club people turn up last time to have a look, and to sell/swap so it was a fun club day.

I'll post a date once I've looked at the calendar of event coming up so we don't clash.

Will a bring and buy day be a standard sunday, or is there a chance we could make it a little longer and run some mini events like we have in the past?

Once a couple of dates are thought as potentials I'll contact the council and see if we can extend the booking. Last time we ran a day long event. This time I think we could try and extend a couple of hours into the evening, but not the morning as we have already superceeded the morning group a couple of times already this year. Only problem with going into the evening is that it's a Sunday... some people might prefer not to... and after 6pm the hall cost doubles per hour.

Basically it's a numbers game. How many people would be keen to extend the Bring and Buy day until 7pm? (extra 2 hours)

I would hang around and have a gander, although I think you would only need 1 extra hour to have enough time to look around.

How about Sunday of GuardCon? We have the hall all day. I'll need to check we have enough tables. What do people think?
