Following on from the sucess of the tourney, and due to demand, Mordheim will commence in it's entirety in two weeks time: the first Sunday after Tin Soldiers.  Smiley

Rules:

-Starting size is 500gc
-Greatweapons strike first like fantasy
-Regeneration ruling as per the tourney
-Blunderbusses mis-fire on the roll of a one; balistic skill is ignored: just roll and pray you get anything but a one
-All optional rules will be used
-The underdog system will be to a maximum of three to one. i.e. if you face a warband that is super tough and yours is pitiful, you'd normally get a HUGE increase in stats: no more! Three is the maximum.
-Random Happenings will be used!
-Any warband is welcome, as are new players Smiley

Fear not if you can't play this weekend or any other weekend for any reason - the experience sorts itself out with the underdog system which is in the main rule-book.

If you wish to register your interest or ask any questions feel free.

A word to the wise: take all the heroes available to you from the outset - only they can search for Wyrdstone!

I'm in! But I can't make it this weekend.

You're allowing the choice of carnival of chaos?  That makes me alittle sad :p

what other rule wil there be? Random happenings? Sub plots?(subs plots are like random happenings but you roll before the game starts)

Regeneration? Do you not roll for injuries at the end of the game?

Oh crikey! I forgot that Tin Soldier is on this weekend! I'd better change the starting date to the week after: then everyone who wants to play can start at the same time. Yay!

Well... what say you then? CoC isn't that bad... Undecided

Yip, all that jazz, Andrew, will be featured I reckon. What-ever people want for this one.

James: The regeneration rule for trolls and possessed monsters.

At present you can get all your wounds back every turn if you roll well enough. Andrew and I changed it yonks ago to bring it in line with fanatsy: if you loose a wound and don't regenerate it that turn - it is gone!  Smiley

Excellent looks like i can start at the same time Smiley

the warband list ain't that bad, but once the nurgled rot spell/skill thing is taken by the warband not many people would want to play them anymore from what I have found in the past

Bloody Hell! There'll be no-one playing fantasy at this rate! Grin

Good on you chaps for giving it a go. You'll soon get the jist of it. Just read the rules and you'll be away laughing - be warned however that some of it is a bit convoluted; any queries, just ask.

I know that Paul wishes to play: he also wishes to use some optional rules he found on some web-site; he says that armour is too expensive and that the price of all armour (including Barding) should be halved. I think armour is a goodly price how it is; but as Paul says, and he is quite right, most people don't take it at all because of the price.

He also wishes to use the optional rule for shields: plus two to armour saves instead of plus one.

So I put it to you jokers - what do you reckon?

Halve all armour, or let it be?

I say halve it. So would gromril and the elven one be halved too seeing as they would be more rare?

Dunno if I would like sheilds getting +2 for 5gc though, keep that at +1

Armour is supposed to be rare in Mordheim. It's still worth it sometimes, it's just not an auto-pick. (for example, it's probably still good to put on heroes, yes?)

*shrug* YMMV

man up and forget the overrated armour ahhahaha.... but halve it if you must

as for sheilds getting an extra save modifier I also say no. As mentioned already for 5gc that would be just too good

To be honest I don't really mind if armour gets halved or not, I only ever use helmets cause all the other armour becomes useless once the stats start going up lol.

Yes, I see all sides.

Glenn is on the money: armour is rare in Mordheim, and historically speaking it was really dear for a good harness: munitions grade armour is represented in the form of Light Armour.

If you look at its cost of 50gc compared to a crossbow at 25gc, it is really very cheap when you compare that back to the historical prices of yesteryear - if you follow?

Paul reckons that the shield rule is better because no-one uses them in the first place and this will make them magically appear as they will be of use... I doubt it.

Threfore I decree: armour and shields shall stay as they are written in the rule-book.

I'm happy about the armor and shields staying the way they are.

Those blunderbusses are dangerous for any starting warband... They have the potential to take out crap loads of your minis...

Quick question re the Dark Elf Warband rules please if someone can answer it for me..... (downloaded the PDF from Tabletop Geek dot com)

In the equipment lists it states that the Dark Elf Blade upgrade is 15cg but in the section that describes the special rules of the weapons it states that they are a 20cg upgrade ?!?!?!?! in the upcoming campaign how much will they be, 15 or 20? Also being an elven blade are they subject to the rules of ithilmar weapons or not?

Thanks
Aaron
