josh for top 6

Bahahahahahaha ha!
You're a funny guy Richard...

My goals for the tournament:
1) kill stuff with my dragon
2) lament over not having a properly painted army to play with
3) draw against Fuj (who tried to dodge me in the grudges) so we can reminisce over the last time we played.

Here is the big reveal and the comp scores for your armies. Tissues will be available at the venue to wipe those tears  Wink

First glance - obvious that more people need to play other army types and "know their enemy" better.

You'll have to explain that Philfy - the list looks quite similar to how I marked them. You probably got slightly hard done by Tongue
Pleased to see some lists got the good comp slap, but there were a fair few on target.
I think my list was verging on hard, but given the metagame an on target score is more reasonable. Thanks all who voted it that way Smiley

Comp is all knee jerk reactions and hit and miss. I'm happy with my comp score but there is no consistency at all amongst that marking. Maybe its due to the huge task of understanding every army list and the items for them. Maybe it's just cos peer comp sucks. Overall we all knew how the system was going to work so we just have to lump it. Game day tomorrow...Yea h!!

Hrm. I don't see that level of comp deviation having much impact. Actually, I think it will; I think it might give Rob a well-deserved podium. But apart from the OK factor... might as well have not bothered to comp it.

...and Phil, you literally got the lowest comp score you possibly could. If "I didn't get vetoed!" is cause for celebration... I guess that makes you a high elf player (waves to 'Vaulto').

But apart from the OK factor... might as well have not bothered to comp it.

You and I have 400pts over something like Rions chaos list. That's enough to turn a massacre into a minor loss, a minor loss into a draw, or a draw into a small win. Even better against the 0 comp lists. Looks worthwhile to me!

And you got hard done by also Nick - your WE list is easily soft by the pack standard as well as "potential" WE lists (and other lists at the event - but that is already taken account of via tiers).

I think the OK's got away with a bit, but that is about normal.

As Phil says, some remarkable inconsistency there.  Must say I'm amused to see there is still much knee-jerking going on by HE opponents.  Suprised they didn't clamour for HE's for be dropped to T1.

Skaven list got away with a bit too.  Guess a lot of people obviously haven't played them often enough yet.

*****

Thats the last of my comments here re the comp marks.  I rate my own list as "hard" - but as with any T1 player other than DE's was expecting the score I received.  At the end of the day it confirms my decision to in future stay away from any WFB that uses player comp (which means I now join the ranks of a few others). Cool

See y'all Saturday.  Harry Wannabee Dave make the most of your 450pt bonus, it ain't gonna help you a lot Tongue

You forgot the siren song herald Smiley

On the plus side, it was only one unit of hounds and one of flamers, furies are actually pretty pants IMO and the core contained more than just min sized units of horrors. Compared to what it COULD have been, it wasn't that bad. (Please don't interperet that to mean that I don't think it's bad, cos I do, I certainly don't want to face it!)

Thanks for reminding me, you don't really want to forget the Siren Song.

Anyway, I don't really find "it could be worse" really relevant.

His list includes nothing but greatest hits from Daemons of Chaos (wait, was there one suboptimal unit of core?). When half the army book is "automatic include" and it has more distinct vetoable builds than most books have distinct builds period...

I wouldn't have voted veto on him given the option, which makes it the nicest of the three 0 comp lists, but that's a really really low bar to clear. (as far as I'm concerned, Bill and Richard are getting away with murder... as are at least two of the HE lists).

I mean, seriously, if he hadn't taken literally every red flag option at least once, I'd've considered just going with H.

With the Gouda master writing his list, how could Richard be packing anything other than pure filth? Grin

the comp looks just about right. almost exactly how I comped it.

it proves player comp works if not better than panel comp.
