THE AIM OF CAN-OPENER 2010
This tournament has been devised so that a group of like-minded gamers can meet in a competitive but friendly environment and play some interesting games of 40k. The primary goal of the tournament however, is to raise funds and canned food for the Auckland City Mission winter appeal. Each player MUST bring at least 3 cans of food. The Cityguard will donate this to the Auckland City Mission on your behalf at the conclusion of the event. However, the cans also have an in-game effect! Each can allows you to reroll a single dice once (but not a dice that has already been re-rolled). Once you have used your can you must surrender it to the TO. This may be a D6 reroll or a scatter dice reroll. Any dice can be rerolled (this means by way of examples: leadership checks – pass or fail (both dice); sweeping advance; psychic tests (both dice); reserve rolls; to hit and to wound rolls; scatter (all three dice); ordnance and vehicle penetration rolls; damage rolls vs vehicles) ALL ROLLS! But remember you can’t re-roll a re-roll. You may bring as many cans as you wish to the event but you must bring a minimum of three. At the conclusion of the tournament any unused cans can be relinquished to the TO. Cans used in games do count towards your 3 can minimum.
The primary gaming purpose is to have fun and help someone less fortunate! This is not a serious tournament event and should not be entered into as such (winning is winning so bragging rights do apply). The missions have been created and used with fun, wackiness and ease of play in mind.
Play to win, but play nice and with good humour.
ARMY RESTRICTIONS
When writing your list for Can Opener 2010 you will need to bear the following restrictions in mind:

WINNING THE TOURNAMENT
While it’s clear that this tournament has honourable and charitable aims, we still need to determine an overall winner. After each game you will need to work and record the result. In addition to this you will need to give you opponent a Sportsmanship rating.
This tournament has a weighting of 80% battle points and 20% sportsmanship. In each game you will have the opportunity to get up to 15 battle points 5 Bonus Points and 5 sportsmanship points.
There is no scoring for composition and no scoring for painting. You may play with unpainted miniatures (although your luck may not be as good).
