i just use everyday brake fluid on my stuff, plastic and metal and then an old tooth brush. Just make sure you seal it in a container or it loses its kick

Metals - soak in Coke Cola for a day, then use a toothbrush.

I just remember the coke trick from working with Jewellry - Silver/Brass.

I don't think it would hurt plastic much, depending on the time you left it in...Coke is an acid.
I think the chemical equation for it is either CC or T&C  (but then again that might be Wild Turkey and Coke)  Grin

I use 2way PPG thinners it will strip a metal model in 4 hours with 1 scrub for a house paint brush but will melt anything plastic it touches. i didn't realise one guy had a plastic arm and all i could find was the outter edge of his shoulder guard.

whiskey on the rocks nikkuhs (partial to Isle of Skye or Jamesons in a pinch)

OR

a nice stout.  coopers stout is damn nice and makes you invincible and charming (tiddled) after a 600ml bottle

OR belrussian vodka. i don't know how to spell it, but i've been chugging the shit back a fair bit lately.  especially at under 30 buck a bottle from Skaska in Newmarket

lol, the thread improved!

With the consideration of taste removed, best times are still on tequilas.
