That's the thing isn't it - most people I know wouldn't want to categorize themselves either way, because they love the competitive mechanics of warhammer as much as painting up their new army.  Almost feels like the point of this thread is to see who considers themself a powergamer or something?  I dunno.  I certainly empathize and identify very closely with both categories A & B.

A and B only describe preference and not proficiency.

I'm obviously a "B" player...  by both my results and my armies.  Granted my army builds are competitive within the limits, but I've podium placed enough in the past to satisfy that side of my psyche.  Wink

For me, it really depends on the system.

In 40k, I am very much a B, as I like to build variant armies, fluff based armies, out and out bizarre stuff. I like planning and executing the conversions that go with such armies.

In Fantasy, at the moment, I think I am more of an A. This may be due the comparative lack of depth in the Fantasy universe compared to the 40k universe but I have struggled to find any real sort of inspiration for off-the-wall, outside-the-box style armies that I like to create iin 40k. Therefore, my WFB tends to be more about the competitive side of things.

I think I'm a B. I'm not particularly good at painting, but my generalship is worse  Grin

Slightly closer to A than B, though I do like lists that suit the fluff Smiley

A.

Why else would I be borrowing other people's armies all the time? Grin

EDIT - yes; I've already arranged to borrow my next army for Tin Soldier 3...

I voted B. Having a hard time recently in that taking B lists to a tournament ends up not much fun, so I take more of an A list and then feel worse when it doesn't perform...
I do really like to win, but I don't like it when I feel that winning is a forgone conclusion. Sometimes I actively defeat myself so that the opposing player doesn't have a terrible game.
