Just thought I'd get some Warmachine goodness on here, and show that SOME OF US Warmachine guys do have fully painted armies Tongue (and enjoyed painting it on our own free will)

All clickable Photobucket goodness.

I'm not the greatest painter ever, but I think the army looks excellent from a foot away.
Full 50 pts army, which is the average 'large' game - say 1750 40k and 2000 WHFB.

I also have my Protectorate up on Photobucket (which I am selling) and my Skorne (which I have sold). Check it out - also fully painted Smiley
(just realized I should have put this in the show-off part of the forum... alas)

I think they look mint! And you know why? Because you've got a great color system that runs fully through your army giving it your look. I especially like that blue pattern on the back and the swords, they look great! Thanks for sharing ^_^

I like your fenrishorse.  But I notice that you never really quite go all the way with highlighting.  Is that deliberate?  I look at these and feel like they would really stand out with just another layer or two of bright highlights.

Yeah I am aware of it - the reason is I don't want them to glow in the dark in the traditional fantasy mini painting style, where nearly every colour (even black) highlights to a very thin white rim. It's more of a personal preference than anything (besides lack of skill).

I'm not exactly artistically gifted, so I paint mechanically - I have a technique which involves undercoating the model by hand black or white, basecoating, and for each colour I add a shade and a highlight (sometimes 2 - as on the Doom Reavers blades). That's more or less it - I'm more interested in them fitting in than I am in them standing out.

Vent - thanks for the compliment. Choosing a colour scheme is the hardest part. The Juggernaut warjack (the one with the big axe) is the first model I painted and it took me days - I must have painted and stripped his armour plates 3 times before sticking with this colour scheme. I must also thank my wife, who, as a woman, has colour-coordination capabilities I lack severely as a man.

The colours are Bestial Brown, Scorched Brown, Kommando Khaki and Ice Blue by the way - yes, I still use Citadel paints.
