this is a bit out of left field but i figured its worth asking anyway

say im charging a unit with bows  or crossbows that kind of ranged unit with something small say a hero on a 20 by 20 base and there is a lot of units in the way/ terrain and at no point in the charge can all of the unit see to shoot because of blocked  line of sight but because of angles at some point in the charge they can all see indivdually

would they all be able to shoot

 or just the most at any one time

if what im saying makes sence

If you have a character charging out of a unit then the unit would usually be subject to the stand  and shoot reaction and the character would charge out as usual assuming the unit does not panic.

If the unit is out of range of the stand and shoot then the character alone is target to the stand and shoot reaction when he moves into range.

If the character is out of range of some of the shooting unit then the whole unit waits unit teh charger is in range of all models. This does not mean the same as arc in line of sight. So if some models of the target unit are in range but out of line of sight then they don't get to shoot at all.

There hardest part was coming up with a situation that matched your description.

Only the guns in the blue region would get to stand and shoot.

What I want to know is if the guns can make a stand and shoot reaction at all in the case where the character is less than half his charge move away from the guns but whose actual charge path is greater than half his charge move.

thats better with a pretty picture..... my gut reaction now would be sure 4 the guns standing and shooting! kaboom!. why not.... but id have to leave it up to those who know more..... (i have been re reading my whfb rulebook this week......make s good bog reading)
