Something different for me; a Warhammer miniature. This guy was meant to be picked up from my local GW store by another person, but the kid who ordered him was remiss in paying. I decided to give him a home as he was going cheaply and I could see he would be something really different for me to paint.

Those who watch my WiP pictures know that I don't normally paint models already assembled. But for this guy it was a must. There were to many joins and bits that needed filling I had to  use wire and superglue to put him all together and then GS the gaps.

Also you'll notice that the base hasn't had anything done to it yet, I'm likely going to buy a premade base and chuck him on that...

Should be an interesting project Smiley

Alrighty, one Taupo lake Race later and I'm back ^_^

Kroxigor Day Two!

I've had a busy month with training for a 155k team road race amongst other things and as such my painting has been on the back burner, but when I saw there was a day of Ice Hockey on TV with the Olympics I figured it was the perfect day to be "Sick" at work and do some painting Cheesy

The Kroxigor is a little strange for me; mainly because it's bone not armor that I'm painting. I had a look at the GW sites version of the Krox and I wasn't totally sold, I didn't like the Aqua blue green they started with for the skin. So I went with a dark blue to bring up in lighter shades, I'm thinking about going all the way up to bone for the spine, but I like the blue quite a lot.

- The inner pupil is going to be yellow on the green.
- I'm worried there's to much gold?
- Haven't worked out a base theme yet. I was thinking snow, but then realised he's a lizard...

Opinions and comments please ^_^

that amount of gold is fine so long as yu go with the idea of working more areas up to bone like you mentioned.  i think adding that extra trim colour will add a lot of dynamic and balance thngs out for you.  that aside, things are looking good

Yes, the more I think about the spine spikes being done in bone the better it sounds to break up the blue. Thanks for your input NeckFace Smiley

Errr first game ever? Or first Fantasy game? Heck it could be both the way I do things... Anyway I'm going to be watching Phil play this weekend and no doubt asking annoying questions while doing it. After that I'm gonna have to book a game with someone with a lot of patience... ^_^

I think the blue is spot on very very nice. wish i could highlight that good.

The gold does let it down, if you can highlight it like the blue that model with be GW paint quality.

Day Three! I'm on fire this week! ^_^

Alrighty, as you can see I've extended the blue all the way up to bone on the spine and other parts. Personally I love the look, it gives a really nice dynamic to the miniature. But herein lines the problem. Part of me is saying do ALL the large bits on his back in this bone color & and the RIMS around each plate layer like the head.

However another part of me is saying that this will make him lose definition, and as such I am confused on what to do. If anyone has an opinion please shout it out. I'd like to keep going soon so first five opinions on what to do will be taken ^_^
