Ok getting close to BC now and i still have not been overly happy with this model yet. I suspect it is how i am using it, my whole needs for that fact i am not doing well in my games.

First to shoot for his ap1 large blast. Is this the correct process.

Role for test (if pass)
Role two d6 + scatter (was told due to it being a large template is this right???)

Then this is what i am not 100% on.

So after the scatter and that i still have models i can kill. do i then need to role to wound for each model. or do they auto kill??

Brood lord

Ok just with on of his spells

The glare one.

It saying role Initiative test and if mine is => that model cant strike that phase.

Main question is:

If its say a squad does this affect only one model in that squad or all ones in base 2 base?

Do you need to role a test for every model in base contact with him even if they are in the same squad?

I am not sure how many of you can help but i hope dave comes on and helps with these.

Usually, psychic attakcs like that follow the standard shooting rules, unless it specifies something special in the powers description. So with the Doom of Malanti, you would place the template. roll scatter+2D6 and subtract it's BS. Unless the description says "automatically takes a wound" or something similar, then yes, you have to roll to wound for each model under the template as normal.

Sorry, I would need to see the exact wording on Glare before answering question 2.

Yeah Big D is right about the psychic power, think of it the same way a Librarian uses Vortex of doom, roll for scatter then roll to wound anything under the template itself.

As for the glare power, if you used the correct wording when if it says model, you need to pick out the model itself so would need to be in B2B, otherwise it would say unit if it meant the entire unit. I would wait for Dave to check on this one though, really depends on the wording as to the general interpretation of the rule.

dawwwww, i have to have my codex on me to make certain, but pretty much everyone has covered it as much as i can ascertain.

just to add to what Big D has said, the sequence for using the Doom's power goes; in the shooting phase nominate a target unit, place the large template if the unit is within range to cover as many models in the unit as possible, roll for scatter as per usual for all blast weapons, wound, make any saves if they can, deduct the d3 wounds from the Doom, and then figure out how many wounds he gets back from the unsaved wounds he's caused.

as for the Broodlord, I'm pretty sure he has to be in base-to-base to use his hypnotic gaze power, and those are the only models that can be effected by it.  so i'd reccomend to remember to hold him back a little bit before the unit charges into assault - remember the closest model in your unit has to charge the closest model in the enemy's unit, and if you want to pick out a specific model (power fist, IC etc) then its best to let a genestealer be the closest model, and then you're free to engage the broodlord with whomever is within range
