Hi

FluffyCon housekeeping stuff.

If you have not already been advised of a veto - breathe easy - you have fooled the judges you cheese-monkey  :-)

If you are a new player (played in no more than 2 WFB tournaments ever) please let me know so that I can "look after you".

1/ Day One. I suggest not arriving at 8.55 for a 9.00 start as you need to go through the process of registering at the door before you make your way across the huge stadium to the far right-hand corner where we will be set up. There is ample parking. It is a family-friendly event - so no beers for breakfast at the venue please. If you strike a snag and will be running late or bailing, txt me on 021674149.

2/ Having registered, come and find me and I will give you much admin goodness. Find the designated table and if your opponent wants to get cracking early - fill your boots. Just remember to stop after 2 and a half hours.

3/ I have been promised ample terrain resources. I am by nature a pessimist. Accordingly could locals with terrain shove some in the boot "just in case" please? Leave it in the boot unless we need it. Worst case scenario is you just get to take it home again. Thanks.

4/ Byes. Hopefully we have an even number. If not, the person ranked lowest in a particular round will play myself or my nominee - can only happen to you once.

5/  I can't claim to know every rule or everything about every army. Lets be honest - no-one can. So my umpiring philosophy is :
>>Ask the players to show me any rules they think are relevant - ie you guys do need to do more than just say "what happens here?" without trying to find out yourselves.
>>Make a decision based on those rules and any others I am aware of that are also pertinent, informed by the appropriate FAQ.
>>Otherwise - make a common-sense ruling

I will not comment on the progress of games (even if I see 2 players labouring under the same misapprehensio n) UNLESS one or both of those players are new players and I need to enhance understanding. Similarly etiquette dictates that players should refrain from commenting on the games of others. Answering a question is OK and is encouraged if you know the right answer.

Please also give the guys at the top tables room to breathe in round 6. What often happens is that a big bunch of guys cluster round the "feature match" as it is winding up and getting tense and I think this is pretty poor form.

6/ To make my life easier - please give me results and sports forms as soon as possible after the game. Before you have a fag. I want to keep things moving on time-table and my data-entry skills are not that sharp :-)

7/ If you are drawn to play on a table you have already played on - first see if a neighbouring pair are OK to swap. If not, come and find me and I will change the terrain around on that table.

8/ I have emailed out a game aid that I use in tournaments to prevent possible uncertainty. Use it, vary it, don't use it - your choice.

9/ In the event of fire or natural disaster - walk briskly to the nearest exit whistling a merry tune.  The Battlecry organisers may say more on this on the day ...

10/ If you leave stuff at the venue overnight, it is at your risk. I certainly would not leave an army there.

11/ Any mistakes are mine. If someone has broken a Hard Cap and I haven't picked it up - its my fault. If they have 2 Talismans on the same hero - its my fault. I will smack myself around, but I won't penalise or disqualify them. Remember folks - its only a weekend of playing with War Dollies....

Finally I know most of the folks playing and they are Good Chaps. Please don't disappoint me or yourselves by hitting below the belt or after the bell...

Good luck guys.
Let me know if you have any questions.

cheers
Nick

Thanks to Nick for running a great event. Certainly worth the trip up. Thanks to Josh Antony Glenn Reid Rion and Phil for the games. Very happy to get five wins out of that calibre of opponents. My last game vs. Phil I was well beaten and no complaints from me. Certainly felt phil was a worthy overall winner. Congratulation s to all the prize winners and all the other competitors for making it an enjoyable event.

I'll see you at Equinox and hopefully we'll see a few of you down for Runefang

Glad you could make it up here too Pete. Hopefully the personally delivered "red cross" packages to student accomodation will coincide with the other tourenys up here  Smiley

Well done Phil. Steam rolled me, again. I don't think you did any bullet dodging so cracking effort!

FluffyCon was another awesome tournament this year as per usual. I really enjoyed facing 2 new opponents and 2 new armies that I normally never play against. Great to hear that there is a possibility that Bignic will finally get to play his signature event and we'll have another organiser taking over the reins next year. Big shout out to all who attended and made it such a great weekend of gaming.

@Gouda Master
I've always had the utmost respect for your game G master. It was a solid stoush and unpredictable till the last couple of turns just like a good game should be. Look forward to getting schooled by you at the club next time we battle.

@Pete

Really solid and enjoyable game mate. Looking forward to tackling your army again in the near future. I promise I won't use those ultra lucky dice next we meet. 4 castings of Flames of the Phoenix with 3 dice doesn't happen often. Game could of gone either way but the dice gods smiled on me.

Usually you are the Miscast Master Phil - maybe you were owed a bit of luck?
