Excellent news lads. Good to see a positive step being taken by Auckland's largest wargaming club.

I will promote this through my email contacts and send out the player's pack when it is published.

Good work.

Remember that if you are intending on advertising the event in the White Dwarf (IMO about the best way of letting those potential players out of the "loop" know about it) then you need to get the info in 3 months in advance IIRC - printing deadlines n all.

I hope it's way shorter than the FoB player pack. That guy didn't know when to shut up... blah blah blah - pages and pages of it!

Have you been on the Burbon Rion? Good on you if you have but I still don't know what that sentence means?

*Players pack is getting ironned out at the moment. Sorry I have just got back from competing in the masters and am unaware of anyone bar the committee and possible other helpers having access to the WIP. I really don't see it as being an advantage however as the pack will be released at least 4 months before the tournament. I will guarantee to make everything transparent and there will be no unfair advantages taken in this tournament just like any other. If you have any problems please email myself or Nick and we'll deal with it.

@Haydn

I have been in touch with Chris and Nick has been in touch with James. I have heard nothing back from either source. Tables have been offered to other systems and I have none spare to offer to Warmachine now. If you do want to be part of this you will I presume have to rent more tables at your expense and I'll try my utmost to accomodate you in the space plan.

FYI the pack is heading towards
peer judged tiers which give VP bonus
hard caps which fit within the rules (but look like ETC)
- comp, no double rare, one double special, one triple fancy core...
- magic, PD and DD limits
- army specific, for most armies have special limitations, like max size of a unit of shades is X models, ring of hotek counts as Y DD

The tourny is ages away. There is Christmas and at least two other tournies before it. Don't stress  Smiley

Yeah. Really, it's just extra work for us; I for one feel like I need to review my lists in light of those rules - and my margins of victory, too.

Remember, it's not finalized, so for now it's not about practicing abuse, it's about seeing what's broke and what's not.

What in particular seems to be the issue with no double rare's?   I can't for the life of me think where this IS an issue.

(I'm assuming no double rares means no two rare choices the same)  Given that HE's seem to be allowed it anyway, whereelse exactly does it become an issue?  If using tiers then its unlikely we'll see two Steam Tanks or Two Hydras etc anyway?

Not ALL rares are actually cheesy or OTT (and in fact there are many that see hardly any use whatsoever).

Please enlighten me.

Double Screaming skull catapults, double units of flamers, double steam tanks?  Not sure if that last one is allowed with the terror causer restrictions but I think the no double rares can stay.
