Well, well, well, some interesting things have been floating around the tubes over the last 24 hours boys and girls.

First this tidbit from B&C:

"-The BA 'dex is DONE and complete already.

-New conversion kits similar to the ones made for the space wolves. These kits are said to be EXTRAORDINARY (I mean.. beautiful!), with a level of detail similar to that of the models in space hulk (or even better). (PS this seems quite certain, it has been confirmed by my local GW seller, who also stated some big news about BA may be revealed at the italian games day).

SOME informations about the rules

-The codex will allow the player to field a top notch assault army: assault squads will be a troop choice, with options similar to those of the new gray hunters in the SW dex: 2Xspecial weapons and no heavy weapons at all (of course). Sergents will be similar to those of the SM dex (more options: tunder hummer, LC and such).

- a psionic power called "vortex of blood", or something like that, will give the caster a CC attacks bonus equal to the number of models in base contact (or even in combat radius?! but it would be too powerful..)

-New indipendent characters.

I can't assure these rumors are true, of course. I just TRIED to translate them in english and posted them here.

Ah, date of release: march, after the tyrs."

Followed by this delicious morsel from Warseer's Harry:

"Blood Angels are only half the story. Smiley"

That is some exciting news, I'm keen to hear what else they have up their sleeve.

I'm still holding my breath for some Sisters of Battle attention, that codex is really dated.

Rhino can only hold 10, minimum sister of battle squad size is 10, this leaves no room for HQ inside transports, the codex is soo old it lists Land Raiders as 10 slot still Sad

Haha dropped it back to 10 again for Landraiders? that's fickle of them.

It just made me realize in those games last weekend my army list was actually illegal, as sister squads cannot be less than 10, no room for the Canoness Sad

Hahaha yeah, I'm having enough trouble with being WYSIWYG compliant already. Trying to get ready for battlecry.

Easiest option was to give her a jetpack and throw her with the Seraphim, should make them a pretty deadly unit, but I will have to beware of open spaces.

I'm pretty sure I'll pick-up Vulkan at some point, just for the fun of it Smiley

that'd actually be awesome for her, seeing you've given her that blessed weapon - instead of a jetpack you could maybe score some angel wings for her instead, look totally WYSIWYG and make her stick out as well.

btw forgot to mention i got given a battle sisters forearm w/ chainsword that you might want

i had been thinking the same thing about using fantasy models and space wolves lists to make a unique army. the codex just kinda askes for it. i was thinking britonian or empire knights, space wolves have steeds, varied guys in each squad, lots of hq. just like a knight with his squires and servants.

there is already to many vanilla SM at the club, imagine the size of the ultramarine contingent at CG, there would be hundreds of marines! so to have another army with the same rules = boring!!!

and the rules for Space wolves are very easy to modify to a counts a army
eg:  with the ability to have a terminator (a knight)
and normal guys  (1 well equiped squire and 4-5 servants)
as well as a wulfen (flagelant or such) all in one unit.
or have a mounted knight that counted as a lord on cyberwolf (that outflanks).
blood claws would make good rules for peasants as without a character attached they dont shoot just hit hard (you imagine getting hit by a shovel).
im not saying you couldnt do it with other codexs just that the SW one seemes to be begging for it.  i can just picture an imperial guard army trying to capture a planet and being beaten back by men with pitchforks and guys with suits of armour on horseback, classic!

I would have thought using the imperial guard codex for your basic troops with squat type options and maybe space marine allies (if you can still do that) for squats in exo army like back in the day.

Take squats on trikes as rough riders etc Wink
