New Zealands largest Tournament and 'Betsy' The StarDragon has to be benched due to a large veto stick that was waved about. No worries, I'll field a balanced list and see how we go. Turn up to the Tournament and theres Nastier more bling'd out lists than a monstrous, terror causing, I can throw fistfuls of PD convention. Ahh Should make for a great party...

Squishy Elves list

Archie Lv4 zappy ring, scroll, xtra spell
BsB Bat banner on a Nag
Noble with 3x shooty bow (Which had fizzzed so no magic attacks Embarrassed)
'Bob the Eagle' with Starlance (Part time job Fluffer to the Stars)
Swordmasters
Dragon Princes
Spears
Archers
Chariots
Bolties
Eagle (gift turkey)

1st Game Jordan WoC, Grudged me and I got told he was bring Space Marines Shocked

Fairly solid list from him but not hard except for all those armour saves. We had swapped lists and I'd assumed tactics were mapped out way b4 the game. I wanted to Spirit o Forge his knigts and Starlance his chariot mounted hero. I'm sure he wanted to Milk curdling yell my DP's and magic me into submission. Trust me to not roll the one spell I wanted in the entire list (spirit of the forge). I got 1st turn drew out his Frenzied knights and charged em in the flank. His Lord had Slaneeshed over to yell dead 2 of my DP's. For his troubles he got a Bolt in the face and fell over twitching.

Everything went well for me in this game from Silly Str3 archers killing Ogres lots, to Starlancing his Exalted on Chariot. My opponent had lots of bad luck and dogs that didn't want to screen anything. 20-0win

Special moment. 2rounds of archer fire 3 dead ogres.

2nd Game Will Wiljveld Empire of Shooty goddness and Alter of smashingly good mace

Damn who is this show boat who makes soo much good looking intrusive terrain (hehe). Terrain everywhere including the middle. So finally I fell into my bad habits and decided to have a plan for this game. I should know better than to have a plan you say... I know. Plan was to out deploy and flank him with everything since I had a huge piece of impassable in the middle of my deployment. I threw out a unit of archers and a bolt thrower to the right for bait and everythingelse on the left flank ftw. Everything was working great middle of my 1st turn with Spirit o Forge going off on Dbl 6's on his Big unit of knights Protecting his flank, but then rolling Dbl 1's. No Flank for the troops to go. Cannons, Hell blaster, Black powder Elf smashtastic. Only thing for me to do was to conserve as many pts as I can.  2-18 Lost
I is planning my revenge at the masters Wil ...aahhhh scratch that no more plans for me.

Special moment. Apart from getting smashed. Four archers taking out a full crew Hellblaster in a wood. 6's to hit 5,6's to randomise and 4's to wound. The Alter    steaming through 3 characters and making every AS and WS.

3rd Game Jake Prowling (sry can't rem you last name) Brets

Great guy for taking his lord on a barded steed. My archery and Bolties were on fire and wiped out his Trebuche, Archery and Peg Knights. Which left me with 4 Blocks of Knights to deal with. I Thought I had the game well in hand when he failed his charge by 1/2 an inch, Which allowed the DP's and BSB to charge his Knights in the middle. Well everything fluffed and he made some great AS and WS (soo many 5's n 6's),and proceeds to run them down and there goes my game with only Swordmasters n Spears left to do the fighting.

He charges Grails BSB, and KOTRs into my swordmasters.. . rubber lances and gets a face full of Swords, both units Flee on a 7up (real BL for him as he rolls both 10+). Well that was good so I'll have to fight this out next round I'm guessing nope, Magic sandals on SwordM's chase both units down ftw. Sry Jake but they are Sword masters. 20-0 win

So some Bad some Real good, 1st day. 'Play with no plan.' Was the mantra for day 2.

It wasn't really that I got bad luck in our game Phil it's more I made bad move's that were really costing, and your bolt thrower's and archer's were absolute gold, overall they must of done together at least 1000 points. Sigh, I wish I got a hug like Harry did Tongue

Well you'll have to stop offering me the game on a silver platter on Turn 2. Next time make it about turn 5 or 6 to keep the suspense up Grin
About the hug... I thought the midnight hugs and spooning you got from Al and Darren was enough on the man love front for ya Tongue Plus you're not pretty enough, Jubbly enough for me Lol.

Game 4 Mark Lowe VC of Ghoulies that charge

Big blocks of ghouls with corpse carts, Necromancers in the unit. Also in the army Lord Vamp plus miniVamp. I wasn't relishing facing undead and was warned over night that  I'd be facing Pete Dunn or Reid Pittiams so I'd psyched myself for undead. Turn 1 was uneventful as his whole army marched towards me even though I got 1st Turn. This was a game of HE magic and shooting overcoming some nasty Ghoules. Vargulf was cut down by the RBT's Magic n Shooting thinned the Ghoules so the Dragon Princes got the flank and ended up in combat with everythingelse against the Vamp Lords unit Turn5. Four rounds of combat saw Vamp Lord and unit pop due to CR. 20-0Win

Best moment was the Eagle(gift turkey) March, charge blocking and redirecting the Vamp Lords unit ftw.

Game 5 Reid (#1 in NZ) Pittiems,  VC of rather friendly undead with 2 blocks of knights.

This is the start of my luck going south and my brain stopping to work. Great game and by turn 3 I had consolidated my left flank keeping his knights at bay. Drain magic had almost completely nullified his magic phase. My spears block unscathed had busted right up the middle of the board. Everything was looking like a solid victory if I didn't make any mistakes. I miscaste and let Reid get Danse off and with that unit charging the spears it was goodnight nurse. Fantastic game and opponent and I took home some more than useful pointers. Next time Reid I'll remember my warpstone token or I just won't miscast Roll Eyes 13-7 lost

Game 6 Jack Dunn, DE of how many PD but no Cav and restrained amount of shooting.

Shocking game. If 12 Str5 impact hits, 10 str 5, 3 str6, 2 str4, 15 str3 attacks can't kill 15 Black guard you lose the game. Well all those attacks can't and I lost the game. If I had broken that unit I would have qoverrun and that would have been a totally different result. Good game Jack even you thought I had you, but thats the reality of WHB. Well played to my opponent.  7-13

So much bad luck but still a decent finish coming in 15th. Hope I qualify for the masters.

Na first day, luckily enough my anus wasn't sore, and 2nd day I think they were too pissed off at my snoring Cheesy.

Game 5 Reid (#1 in NZ) Pittiems,  VC of rather friendly undead with 2 blocks of knights.

You should have done what Marcelo did against Reid.

Turn 1 - 5:
Hide in a corner and kill Dire Wolves

Turn 6:
Charge Ellyrian Reavers with BSB and one Lion Chariot into Spirit hosts, losing 3 Ellyrian Reavers.

13 - 7 to Marcelo.

Also, at the time of the tournament, Harry was the highest ranked player in New Zealand.

@Nick

My army had enough hitting power to beat him so no need to hide. Curse the dice gods to intervene!

Reid has removed himself from the rankings otherwise the list would read a little different. I'm sure Harry will let me know if he felt slighted at the masters.

That's a tough run Phil. Looking at your list of games, I'm sure I would have placed a little differently if that was my draw  Undecided

I was so tempted to hide as well, after I saw Reid’s list and the terrain of DooooM on table 1.
But instead I pressed hard on the accelerator and went straight into it on turn 2, and the result was predictable.

My gobbos died, but they died with honour!
