here are some interesting information i found on the web:
dwarf - pete haines
Lizard - andy Hare, Robin Cruddace
high elves - Adam Troke
Dark Elves - Gav Thorpe
Vampire - Gav Thrope
Warriors of chaos - Phil kelly
Daemon - Mat Ward
O and G - Mat ward
Empire - Graham McNeil
Ogre - Phil Kelly
Tomb King - Alessio Cavatore, antony Reynolds, Gav Thorpe
Skaven - Alessio Cavatore
Wood elves - antony Reynolds, mat wards
Bretonnia - antony Reynolds

believe it or not, the dude who wrote the daemon of chaos army book also wrote Orc and goblin. talk about going to opposite extremes, that guy must be on drug.
Phil Kelly has the reputation of writing softer army books.. ogre and WOC proved it.
Alessio is well known, good at writing army books that break the system, (he wrote skaven, tomb king, vampire count, empire..in 6th edition) I'm glad he doesn't write army books anymore for 7th edition.. and pls keep it that way..

Gav and Antony are probably the most experienced army books writers out there, who wrote more than half of the army books in 6th edition..and i find it very interesting how 2 of the hardest armies in fantasy were written by Gav.... (looks like GW REALLY trying to make all the armies really hard)

Empire, Lizardmen and High elves army books were written by 40k players....

Well think about it..
When O n G came out people complained alot about how weak it was etc.
So when he writes his next book he made sure it wasn't weak. go figure huh?
people should be careful of what they wish for

Yeah that's a tough situation, they are damned if they do and damned if they don't when it comes to doing what the community itself is asking for. Sometimes people really don't know what is good for them Cheesy

That applies to soo many online games etc. as well these days.

OnG is not weak, just that all the newer army books are broken.

And Gav left GW just prior to the DE release...  so unlikely to see any more from him.

O n G is weak.. sorry to say
Even compared to previous 6th edition books i think they still lack something that makes them fully competitive.
to the extent that on the tiering i have no idea how they above beasts of chaos and Ogre kingdoms
