I think it's cool.

As far as VCs go (and what they can do/take) - I don't think this is hard.

And I don't think it's weak either. It looks like a good list, that will be a fun and challenging list to play against.

I don't think it's too hard.

As your lord literally keeps your army together, I'd suggest giving him Wristbands of Black Gold or parking him in a bunker (look out sir for the 2+ ward save). I'd also consider giving him Lord of the Dead so you can repair your skeleton blocks on a 3+ instead of a 4+ with the Invocation. It will also allow you to boost your skellies past their starting sizes, which is a handy thing to do when you have extra power dice kicking around.

I was running the Hellish Vigour banner and found that it didn't come into play much. I'd swap it for the Banner of the Dead Legion. All of a sudden your 5 (6?) Black knights have US20, which is great for autobreaking from the flank.

I'd swap the Banner of the Dead Legion for a War Banner. You're not going to win combat often with a unit of 20 skellies, and your basic 4+ (5+?) CR will be whittled down pretty quickly by most other core troops and shooting.

Overall I think you have a lot of flexibilty with this list, but not much survivability. Not a hard list at all.

Try here (link) for more ideas.

With 3 wounds, toughness 5 and movement 9, I think my lord is very safe, being a spell caster it is unlikelu I will let him get into any combat that I won’t think he will win. But I give him the night shroud just in case. A high level vampire lord spell caster is already very expensive, Excessive protection on a spell caster is just a waste of points.
I might consider give him lord of the dead, but really, I HARDLY waste any of my PDs to raise more skeletons. In fact, I never raise skeleton unless I have totally nothing else to cast.

Hellish banner is awesome, works for me every time. I am considering dropping the barding on a unit of black knights, so they have movement 8, give my opponent some nasty 16” surprise charge from the forest.

Skeletons are never used to win combat, they r there to pin a unit down.

I agree to an extent Simon - a list can be effective without being hard.

But it's not stealth cheese. It's a well-built, effective list. No cheese. Hold the cheese. What's with adding in "cheese"?

I'll be sorely disappointed though if you don't bring the Gobtonnians to Fields of Blood. They'll create quite a stir.
