Ha ha, I suspect the boy will be severly punished! Will the bidder be able to enforce that price legally?

Hahahah bummer. I've seen a few situations like this before, basically the guy who bid on the item is legally bound to now purchase it for said price.
TM don't care if your kid wasn't allowed, fact of the matter is he got on the account and made a bid, he shouldn't have his password etc. if he isn't allowed to do this, not their problem, not the sellers fault either.
It's up to the seller if he wants to request the success fee back and then re-list the auction, I've seen some of these situations turn REAL ugly.

Same thing happen to me, i forgot to log out then little clicky decided he wanted some yugeo cards. the Guy was very understanding and didn't make me buy them I offered to pay his succes fee but said he'd get it refunded. phew!
its really up to the bidder, i've also had the reverse where i'd already won and paid then told that "my son sold it through school" and took over a month to get my coin back

Speaking of TradeMe auctions, doesn't anyone else think this is over priced?
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Toys-models/Miniatures/Other/auction-234901799.htm
I have no idea what someone would charge as a commission painter, but if you were to commission someone you would get to choose the theme at least so it suits you, also I actually really don't like the backwards skimmer bodies, it kills the beetle like appearance they had. The painting job itself looks very clean but I don't know how they will go selling that one, I'll keep it on my watch list just out of interest in what happens with it.

lol, that guys is delusional if he thinks he can sell it at that price! "well painted" models are not good imo cause they never fit the colour scheme i want to use. So it's infact a bad feature for me on trade me.

I'm not sure what the Retail Price is on that stuff but as a Semi-Professional Painter myself I find the cost a bit steep for the obviously shoddy highlighting on the reds in those pictures and the amateurish green bases.
Personally I charge Retail Price of the model to paint something to order and a bit less to sell my own armies but that deal looks a bit steep. Obviously aimed at people who "really" hate painting though.

99.4% positive feedback, this one will probably go for $13, $14 at least

If it weren't for my xbox 360 ambitions I would almost be tempted to try this great offer :p
