Skitterleap will be held on 5/6 September 2009 at Khandallah Scout Hall, Wellington.

Greg Rae will be Umpiring the event (as he did last year).

A Players Pack (from FieldsofBlood@paradise.net.nz) will be available from 13 July, however it will be 5 rounds and 2250 point armies.

Good lead-in for Guardcon giving you a chance to tournament test your army.

I would dearly like to start attending wellington tournaments, but price is an object.  Anyone planning on roadtripping and staying at budget accomodation/other attendees houses?

should just get flights luke - considering the cost of petrol vs a 45 dorrah ticket if you book in time, plus the time saved and comfort etc....

though having said that, roadtrips rule.  driving through desert road and Ohakune around this time is pretty \m/

You should be able to get flights for ~40 or 50. Same as a bus ticket, and I imagine cheaper than gas too

Driving will work if you can split petrol about 3 ways, otherwise plane ticket is the go.

Recently drove to Tauranga, Rotorua and then back to Auckland 680km's all up, took up about $60 worth in my 1.6 Corolla and that thing runs off the smell of petrol, that is about the distance of one way to Wellington so looking at $60 each if you were to two man it in a car with good economy, same as a plane ticket.

i dunno man, trips that i've taken to welli in cars you easily clock over 80 buck in petrol, usually more because of a wee top up on the way.

and i thought bus tickets were some where in the 80-90 region?  though really, that'd be retarded now considering the price of air fares

If you are looking at coming (which hopefully you will  Smiley ) then I would recommend staying at

http://www.downtownbackpackers.co.nz/

This is opposite the Railway Station. The venue is 15min train ride door to door. Airport buses stop there as do all intercity buses and trains.....eve n the interisland ferry runs a bus directly to it.
