well ive already been hassled about this being a cheezy army list but i think it must have been written in the codex this way so you can take this combo. im using guardains to represent the pathfinders as i already had them and dont like 'normal' armies, ive built this army out of the models i had left after 3rd edition, and the hawks and banshees are from the bits collective at the club. this should provide a nice break from my Orks and my Chaos (yippee guns that work and have range) i have seen marine players doing a similair thing with there scouts as well.

1850pts

HQ:
Yriel
eldrad

Elite:
5 wraithguard with warlock with conceil, spiritseer, spear
8 Howling banshees with exarch, warshout, acrobat, mirrorswords

Troops:
8 pathfinders
8 pathfinders
8 pathfinders
3 jetbike, 1 cannon

Fast Attack:
8 Swooping hawks with ecarch, skyleap, intercept, sunrifle
Vyper, EML, holofields

Heavy Support:
Wraithlord EML and scatter laser

also have two support weapons teams and 5 dire avengers which i will use if the points need to be increased for anything.

so what do y'all think.
i know it will suck against horde armies but it should do ok against medium and high priced armies, like marines, nidzilla, tau and necrons. had first game with these guys (1500pt game) against my mates ultramarines and got a draw, killed his dread, two marine squads in rhino, 5 terminators he just had one tact squad and some assualt squad guys left. i had lost banshees, 1 almost two squads of pathfinders, swooping hawks, hoping at 1850pts they will be even better but not holding my breath.

will be putting up some pics soon to show my awesome skill with... a toothbrush?

Looks good, but...

A bloke named Paul (Eiru) used to come to the club about a year ago. I'm afraid you will never know Eldar cheese until you have played him. Wink

From memory he had:

Avatar
Farseer - probably Eldrad
Warlock body guard
Wraith Guard times many!
A few units of Pathfinders
Scorpions? I think?
Three! Wraith Lords!

I beat him... once Grin Lots of others didn't.

And that I'm afraid is why you don't see him at the club anymore: he seemed to be shunned for his extreme cheese that no-one wanted to play him - and he wouldn't back down; stuck to his guns, and good on him. I'd like to see his take on fifth edition to be frank. Smiley

So in summary: good for you! It's about time a cheesy Eldar force made an apperance. Shocked Cool  You are right though, horde armies will be a tad tough. You can't squeeze in another Wraith Lord can you?

yeah i dont get why people dont like tough armies, every army (no matter how cheezy) has its own kryptonite. my armys (and pauls' by the looks) dont like flamers and ignore cover type weapons, or as said before armies that can put up with high body counts.
i dont mind if people dont like it, thats what its about. looking through the codex and trying stuff out, sometimes winning, sometimes getting your ass kicked.  i was also kinda restricted with what i could field, there was only one striking scorpian in the bitz box and vebjon got the avatar that was there. i would really like just all pathfinders, not sure if it would work, or if anyone would play against it. lol
ive fixed the mistakes in my list, added it again and it comes out to 1851pts Noooooo!!
have to take something out, any ideas..
good on you lezle for beating him, was it with the marines?
so when are you coming back to the 40k fold lezle?

Jolly good.

Take the bikes out for a Wraith Lord! Grin

I beat Paul with my mighty Imperial Guard army. He got so mad that he instantly challenged me to a re-match the next week! He went home and honed his list even more, came back and only just beat me by about a couple of hundred Victory Points or what ever it was. Tongue He was thrilled to bits; I enjoyed the game: fun by all was had. Smiley

When will I return in seriousness is a good question. Most likely next month or so I'll rig up a game. I got thrashed by Phil and his High Elves... a few more of those and I'll probably feel the need to play a real game. Haha. Tongue

Besides, I just bought the I.G. Codex! Dun dun DAH! Shocked

In the next week or so I'll put my Eldar on TradeMe for sale. I have two Falcons, three bikes, two Vipers and an old Wraith Lord.

I would not say that is cheesy you have 4 troop slots used, yes the troops my be crazy troops but none the less they are.

People have to remember with uber units they cost and you are limited in numbers. Also uber units only tend to be good at one thing and not a good all round unit like a stock troops just ok at all things.

Numbers on the other side and speed out take out this army with out to much issues but this is the same with most small size big gun armys. Every one would cheese it up if it was that easy to win with them. There is always something they lack.

so far ive been hassled about all three of my current armies being cheezy. tech/smart orks and my chaos thats all elites and special units.
but thats just how i like to play, with a few flash units that are specialised. like zagstruk and snikrot, as well as chaos chosen and flying HQ. all of which are completely legal, not to mention i lose a fair bit too. been playing so long if i wanted to  just win everygame i probably could (except against eisenhorn) just by taking the best in the codex.
thats why i only use one flying daemon prince with warptime in my chaos army, its just no fun to play, there to powerful if used right.

did come up with an army that even i thought was cheese,
ALL GROT Army, well except for the herders obviously.

HQ ?? maybe two wierdboys (who else would lead grots to war)

TROOP: 6 units of 30 grots with herders.

Heavy Support: 3 Units Of 3 Kans

again not sure if it would work but 180 gretchen and 9 kans teleporting round the table would sure be a fun game.
not a lot of points though.

So you have issues beating eisenhorn a, i had a game with him at battecry it was a good fun game, he does have a good marine army. I did win what i was happy with i think i got full points also would play him again. he does make very little mistakes and is good at marines, but there still there and that what you always need to exploit with any player see what they do wrong and exploit those mistakes.

i think the problem with beating eisenhorn for me is that i taught him to play and he knows all my moves before i do them  :'(  i have gotten better against him since playing others at the club, learning new tricks and tactics etc. but yes he is a very good player and when i beat him i will be well pleased with myself, and yes he was the ultramarine player i got a draw with in the eldars first game, so i am pretty happy with that result really. i read somewhere that with a defensive style army like this eldar one and with the nasty armys out there that a draw is good and a win is really great.

so where are all the citygaurd eldar players???
are there any? me and vebjorn and paul(no longer going?) is all i know of.

Lezle

What you mean is you need to lose a few more fantasy games to erase the scars of having my Hammerhead asaassinate you BT Marshal, and having your marines beaten in CC by my Fire warriors Tongue

As for the titan, please ensure there is plenty of blank space for me to add Chaos embellishments, for the beserker cheeze will surely win through on the day >Smiley

Yeah, just rub the salt in Daryl. Sad Wink

Nick Ng used to be an Eldar player. As far as I know he has disappeared off the radar somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle; the other theory was that he is hard at work at Uni. The latter sounds a bit far fetched to me though.

And don't forget Dave Stent! Our once mighty President was once a mighty Eldar player! But, just like the Roman Empire, he has fallen. Tongue

I'm too focused on warhammer at the moment, which unfortunately is a better gaming system.  Still, that eldar list that lezle told us about looks a LOT like my 4th ed list.  Only I recently sold 5 of my 15 wraithguard and all of my wraithlords.  Still have more wraithguard, avatar, pathfinders etc though..

Hahaha Vaul is too hardcore for 40K Tongue no magic phase and not enough depth of tactical placement for his liking is my impression. I can see where he comes from in this regard.

That being said, you can call Vaul a Eldar player, but the chances of actually seeing him at the club playing 40K.....

Rub it in why don't ya!

I have begged my manager about nineteen times to be taken off Sunday shifts, I'm yet to even get a maybe.

Best I've done at the moment is played 3 500 point games with my girlfriend Sad because that's as many as I can convince her to play (because I'm still nub and we spend more time reading rules than knowing what to do next )

I mean no offence by my post as do ye kennit? I'm just saying you are not a 40k player.
