Hi folks,

I regularly organise group outings to new movies, at a slightly cheaper rate of $12 per movie. I usually organise the group bookings for a Friday night, the day after the release of a new movie. I pre-book and pay for tickets in advance. I usually aim between 7 and 8pm. I usually send out a txt during the week to those on my movie list, and post to mailing lists with times/dates etc.

For example I'm organising a group booking for Friday 5th June to see Terminator Salvation, in July it's Transformers 2 and Harry Potter and so on...

If anyone wants in on the group outings, please let me know.

Usually we attend either the Queen st theatres or Broadway, depending on the time of the screening.

8pmish can be doable depending on the screenings. We have had a few later screenings lately. I'll post times for movies as they come up.

We are heading to Terminator Salvation Friday night at 7:30pm. I've got tickets already but we might be able to squeeze in some extras if you get to me early enough...

I will be organising Transformers 2 in a couple of weeks. Let me know now if you are interested so I can contact you closer to the day... or I will forget. I have a txt tree I send movie info to.

Hay, I'm working at SkyCity theatre (Just above the casino)  tonight so I'll be within walking distance of the Queen St Cinemas. Is 7:30 the time it starts or the time you leave?

Hi all,

Trying again for a movie outing on Friday 31st to Rocky Horror Picture show. Deadline for putting your name on the list is Tuesday afternoon. I'll be buying the tickets before America club meeting at 6pm. Txt me on 027 6694937.

My birthday is coming up so I'm having several mini events for my birthday, so I dont clash with larps, other birthday events etc, and spread the events so I hope you can make it along to at least one of them.

1) Friday 31st July night from 7pm to 10pm I'm heading to Denny's in town before the Rocky Horror Picture Show. All are welcome to come along. Let me know if you are coming so I can get a big enough table area.

2) Sunday 2nd August our flats usual Sunday hot chocolate is turning into Karen's Dessert + Hot Chocolate movie night. Starting around 6:30pm. Bring a dessert, we will pig out socialise and then watch my favourite big damn movie "Serenity", cause it's my big damn birthday... bring a cushion for sitting on if possible.

3) Friday 7th August movie outing GI Joe. Queen Street, evening, $12. Let me know if you want to come along...

If you feel the urge for birthday presents, please donate some cash to Equality Now instead at any of these 3 events in a sealed blank envelope. I'll have a wee box for them to go in. Any donations will be added to the total from the Auckland Serenity Charity event we have coming up in August. More news coming on that soon.

Regards,
Karen

I would have to say that District 9 is a great choice for a geek flick, check what the king of the geeks has to say:

I so totally enjoyed this movie... someone warned me it was bloody, but I think it was very realistic in those particular cases... really cool concept and much potential for some weird roleplaying games...

(just read that review and yeah, thoroughly agree with the guy, cool movie and one that made us chat for an hour afterwards in Starbucks which we were having drinks afterwards... go see District 9, really cool)

Anyway, this Friday I am organising a group to go see Inglourious B**tards by Tarantino. No times posted yet but it will be Friday, at Queen Street cinemas some time between 7 and 8:30pmish. $12 per ticket. Let me know if you are interested in coming with a group.
