The Hunt For 'The Grumpy Daemon'

Where? Guardcon- Takapuna Grammar.
When? 26-27 September.
Cost? A measly $20.00 (To cover hall hire and help pay our way over two days, oh and get a prize or 3 together)
Players? 12 total… No more, no less!
Format- Three 2000pt games on Saturday/ A 5 on 5 apocalypse game on Sunday using lists from Saturday.

Cheese factor? Extreme! You are out to rule the galaxy! Not make friends! Kill ‘em all!

The rules… Each force must be ‘legal’- With that I mean taken from the force organisation chart on page 87 of the 40k rule book. Other than that… Go nuts!!! No army comp for the weekend. IF YOU HAVE FORGEWORLD STUFF THEN BY ALL MEANS WHIP IT OUT AND USE IT!... just no apoc stuff till sunday...
Special characters are not only allowed, they are expected as the ultimate prize, The Grumpy Daemon will not be won by diplomacy but sheer, brute force…

For each round your opponent and table will be drawn out of a hat… Don’t worry; if you get someone you have already played we will redraw.
Saturday event…
Scoring: Win 3, Draw 1, Lose 0 (hey, you lost. Get over it) 2 bonus game points if you wipe your opponent out.
Game 1=Spearhead(Get the daemon!)…Basically get closest model to the middle point.(modified mission)
Game 2=Dawn of war-Capture and control...All your bases are belong to us
Game 3=Pitched battle-Seize ground... Hey, what are those shiny thiings over there?
Bonus game 4= Arena of death. The infamous last man standing gladiator contest. Smackdown on your character!

Sports: Huh? It’s 40k. BUT your conduct will be judged by your peers. And me. Heeheeheehee. Any dodgyness will be crushed by all other players
Painting. Only painted armies allowed. We vote for the best one as part of the player’s choice award. Who’s got the shiniest and coolest looking army???

Sunday event… You are expected to forge alliances over the Saturday with 4 other players you deem worthy enough to crush the other 5 hapless fools… As a bonus you are able to add (optionally) another 500pts to your original Saturday force (That’s right! 2500pts each to make the galaxy burn)OR JUST MAKE A COMPLETELY NEW 2500PT LIST FOR SUNDAY... you can take a formation or super heavy or yet more cannon fodder. Will be played on a 6 by 12 table for maximum carnage. The Grumpy Daemon awaits…

Trophies are sorted as of today. They are Overall winner, players choice, apocalypse general, arena of death winner. Winners can choose their prize on the day to go with their shiny trophies i got done.

8am. get there(on time you slobs), set up for apocalypse...P lay as soon as we have stopped heaping more abuse on each other.
5pm Finish up and pack up.
5.30 trophy and prize presentations. go home. Sleep.

all players are cityguard or ex cityguard except for 0ne gw boy who have been helping me out a bit.
I dont want to see your army lists as you are all old enuff and experienced enuff to not stuff it up. Of course full disclosure to your opponent is expected as standard. No cheating on your lists you cheesey buggers!

Sounds like a blast D. UNfortunately I am actually considering getting my VC's up to speed in time to play fantasy at GuardCon. (I know, blasphemy), however I haven't made my mind up 100% and it depends on if I can get them (re)painted in time.

Can I let you know a little closer to the cut-off date?

Either way, I have the main Apoc rulebook for you to borrow. I don't have Reload yet though, sorry.

ha! if you can fit em into the standard chart in the rule book and they take either a troop, elite,fast attack or heavy slot then why the hell not? Just no apoc stuff till sunday. go for it mate. Good question that. If you got it, use it. see 1st post up top...

i would love to play as well,with my green mean ork machines but the way things are going i will have about 1650pts worth by then....would be nice though as i'm a virgin tourny player. hey played my first game of 5th ed last week only small but my orks kicked butt

just got my 2500 point list done.

Added this on top of my 1850,

Ven Dread, landraider with laz, 5 termys. And thats about if for 750 points.

For 2000 i just add in a stranded assault cannon dread and made my tec marine into a  Master Of the Forge got about 25 points left for nothing of much use. so out the window it goes.

And Wayde and his orks are now on board... Only two spots to fill now... Wayde wants to use his stompe in the apoc game and i said thats cool,,, think that sucker is 800pts? No worries... Who ever plays on the other side can have another stratagem i guess... Gotta have a stomper in the game. i luv that giant easter egg of doom. Its all fitting together nicely boys!
